Bath repair near Link

Bath repair in Link, done in place

Most of our bath repairs take a few hours, and you can usually bathe again the following day. There’s no need to book a plumber or tiler, because nothing is disconnected. We’re often asked to fix rusty patches near the plughole and holes from dropped items, across pressed steel enamel, roll-top & freestanding and acrylic.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Aftercare tips

Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:

  • Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
  • Rinse it down after each bath
  • Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
  • Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath

Keep metal objects like razors and cans off the surface, because they can mark the enamel. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.

Tape over a fresh chip or crack until it’s repaired, so water cannot get in. Remove it before the repair.

Repairs by material

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. They don’t rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.

When a repair is not the answer

To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
  • A steel bath rusted through

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

What we work on

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • What the surface is made of
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Whether we combine several jobs

Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Send pictures for a quote

Phone photos are fine. Just make sure we can see:

  • The material, if you know it
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A picture taken from further back

The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of pictures using our quote form or ring us. We will say right away whether it can be repaired.

What happens on the day

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we are there. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes a few hours. At the end we talk you through the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, normally the next day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Open a window if you can
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

Advice

Questions from Link

Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?

In most cases. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so access behind the panel is important.

Are there extra charges for Link?

We don’t add a call-out fee. Your fixed price includes everything.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.

Is my repair covered?

All our work carries a one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

I tried a repair kit. Can you fix it?

Regularly. We strip it out, deal with any rust and repair it again.

When can you do it?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?

Generally. Send us a picture of the hole and one from under the bath if you can.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we’re working in. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Link

Letting agents often send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Link use us as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

What we’re called out for in Link

The usual cause is something heavy dropped into the bath, and building work is a common culprit. Cracks in acrylic have a different cause: the bath is not properly supported, so it flexes under weight.

Common reasons people in Link contact us are:

  • Chips caused by builders
  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
  • Chips under the taps
  • A chipped rim or side

What to look for in a quote

  • How the colour is matched
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • Whether a trained technician does the job
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show

Our hiring checklist

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a bath rarely stops at the bath: the tiles sitting on the rim tend to break, the panel may not fit the new one, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. A repair skips all of it. Prices start from £95. Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Link. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Why Link clients choose us
