Bath repair for Little Cornard homes

Different materials, different repairs

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, in much the same way.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.

Bath repair in Little Cornard, done in place

A repair fixes just the damaged area and blends it into the rest of the bath, which is far cheaper than replacing a fitted bath and the tiles around it. Most baths can be used again the next day. Typical jobs include chips along the edge of the bath and cracks in an acrylic bath, across acrylic, roll-top & freestanding and cast iron enamel.

Every job is backed for twelve months in Little Cornard and everywhere else. We return to put right any problem with the work.

What we cannot put right

Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below
  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Pressed steel enamel

When to call us in Little Cornard

A cracked acrylic bath typically wasn’t supported properly. Loose legs, no proper cradle or a floor that gives let the base flex until the acrylic gives way.

You may need us if you’ve spotted any of these:

  • Chips along the edge of the bath
  • A cracked acrylic bath
  • Rust spots around the plughole
  • An old repair that has yellowed or come loose

10 questions to ask before booking

Repair or replace in Little Cornard?

If the rest of the bath is in good condition, a repair is almost always the better choice. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and the bathroom stays as it is. If the whole surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we’ll tell you. Prices start from £95. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

How it works

Once we’re through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the job takes a few hours, depending on the damage, depending on what we find, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.

  1. First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

Advice

Can I fix it myself?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Aftercare tips

A little care keeps the finish looking good. We recommend:

  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
  • Do not leave a fresh chip for long
  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
  • Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it

Care for the repair the same way as the bath: a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs. Keep scouring pads and gritty cleaners away from it.

If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Each time it flexes, the crack grows, and it can start to leak underneath.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • How much damage there is
  • The material and finish

Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Little Cornard. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Natural light rather than flash
