Bath repair for Llangarron homes

How it works

We work cleanly and quietly. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes two to three hours for most chips. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, generally the following day.

Advice

Bath repair at your home in Llangarron

Chips, cracks, rust spots and small holes can be repaired with the bath left exactly where it is. There’s no plumbing to disconnect, the tiles aren’t touched, and the repaired area is colour matched so it blends in. We regularly repair cast iron enamel, roll-top & freestanding and pressed steel enamel, and common reasons people contact us are a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting and impact holes in acrylic.

Every repair is covered by a one-year guarantee.

Before and after: a chipped, rust-stained bath around the plughole

Keeping it looking good

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
  • Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
  • Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early

For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath without abrasive products.

If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath until it’s repaired. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.

Llangarron: your questions answered

Can tenants book a repair?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just make sure the landlord agrees.

Do you come to Llangarron?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and come to Llangarron. Send photos and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Can you price it without visiting?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit normally costs less than separate visits. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

Can you redo an old repair?

Yes. We take out the old repair and do it properly. Mention it when you send pictures.

Is there a guarantee?

All our work carries our one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

How soon can you come?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send photos with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

Different materials, different repairs

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is what we repair.

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. They don’t rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

Signs you need bath repair in Llangarron

Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and building work is a common culprit. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: the bath is not properly supported, so it flexes under weight.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • Deep scratches in acrylic
  • Cracks in an acrylic bath
  • A kit repair that didn’t last
  • Chips on the rim or sides

Questions to ask before you book

  • How the colour is matched
  • What prep work is covered
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • When it can be used again

Choosing a repair company

Repair or replace: which is better?

Think about the hidden costs of a new bath: removal and disposal, plumbing, a new panel, tiling and decorating. A repair is one job, done in one visit. Prices start from £95. A repair generally costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

When a repair isn’t the answer

Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Acrylic
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Cast iron enamel

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. There’s no area surcharge for Llangarron. What changes the price is:

  • The material
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How much damage there is
  • The colour and finish to match

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Quotes from your pictures

Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

We price from photos so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.
