About our bath repair in Lower End
Repairing baths is what we do most. A chip by the taps, a crack in the base and a rust spot by the plughole are all repaired in place, normally in one visit. Whether it’s rust by the waste and overflow and an old repair that has yellowed or come loose, we can normally put it right, on cast iron enamel, roll-top & freestanding and pressed steel enamel alike.
Whatever the size of the job, you get the same one-year guarantee in Lower End and across Milton Keynes.

What a repair cannot fix
To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:
- Cracks in acrylic we can’t reach from underneath
- A steel bath rusted through
- Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before you book.
Surfaces we repair
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Acrylic
- Pressed steel enamel
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Cast iron enamel
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Acrylic
Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.
Pressed steel
Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
Repair or replace in Lower End?
A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: tiles along the rim normally crack when it comes out, the panel may not fit the new one, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. A repair skips all of it. Prices start from £95. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
What you get with us
- Nothing taken out or refitted
- A year’s guarantee on all work
- CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
- Colour mixed on the day to match

Can I fix it myself?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
Aftercare tips
Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts. Here’s what we suggest:
- Give the bath a quick rinse after use
- Have new chips seen to early
- Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
- Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
Do not leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, as they can leave rust marks. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.
Avoid standing in a cracked acrylic bath until it’s fixed. Every use opens the crack a little more, and it can start to leak underneath.
Prices and what affects them
Repairs from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- How much damage there is
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- Whether we combine several jobs
Compared with replacing, a repair is typically a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.
Send photos for a quote
You can generally get a fixed quote without us visiting. To help us price it:
- Any details about the material
- Something in shot to show the size
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- Where you are, by postcode
We price from pictures so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.
Your questions about bath repair in Lower End
Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?
In most cases. Photos of the hole and the underside help us check.
Will there be a smell?
There may be a mild smell during the work.
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.
Can you fix rust around the plughole?
Yes. We take out the rust and any loose enamel, seal and fill the area, then colour-match the finish.
Are there extra charges for Lower End?
We do not add a call-out fee. Your fixed quote includes everything.
Do I need to be at home?
We need someone to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work.
What happens next?
We come back with a fixed quote. You are under no obligation.
Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?
Most of the time. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so access behind the panel is important.

How the visit works
We turn up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your pictures first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. The work itself takes two to three hours for most chips, and we leave the room as we found it.
- First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
- We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
- We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
- Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
- The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the next day.
How to prepare
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
- Open a window if you can
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
Getting a price
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.
