Bath repair in Manley

Bath repair in Manley, done in place

Most bath damage, from chips and cracks to rust spots and holes, can be repaired with the bath left exactly where it is. There is no plumbing to disconnect, the tiles aren’t touched, and the finish is matched to the rest of the bath. We regularly repair acrylic, whirlpool & spa baths and pressed steel enamel, and the jobs we see most are deep scratches in acrylic and hairline or through cracks in acrylic.

You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

10 questions to ask before booking

Manley: your questions answered

What areas do you cover?

The entire UK, including all of Cheshire West and Chester. Just include your postcode and we will offer you dates.

Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?

Yes. We mix the colour on the day to match, including pastel and older colours.

Can you quote from photos?

Yes, almost always. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed price without visiting.

What happens if you find more damage?

The price is fixed for what the pictures show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

What does bath repair cost?

Prices start from £95. Because every job differs, we price from pictures. You will get a fixed figure before you book.

How long before I can use the bath?

Usually within a day, though it depends on what we have done.

Is there a call-out fee?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Just ensure the landlord agrees.

What your bath is made of matters

Pressed steel

Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Exposed steel rusts fast, especially around the waste, so early repairs matter.

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.

How it works

Here’s how a visit normally runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and tidy away. Plan for two to three hours for most chips from start to finish. Before we go, we will explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the next day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Clear the area around the damage

Advice

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. You will not pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • Access to the area
  • The type of damage
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The material

Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it.

Send pictures for a quote

Before you send pictures, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Where you are, by postcode

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole bath, we can price the job.

Aftercare tips

A little care keeps the finish looking good. We recommend:

  • Rinse it down after each bath
  • Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath
  • Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
  • Have new chips seen to early

Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and avoid dropping heavy items on the repaired area. Get any new chip seen to quickly, before rust can start.

A small chip is a quick job. Leave them and they collect dirt, stain and, on metal baths, rust, so it’s worth getting them done early.

Work for landlords and builders

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Manley use us as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

Should you replace it?

Cast iron baths in particular are worth repairing: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and replacing like for like is not cheap. Repairing it leaves it where it is. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Why Manley customers choose us

  • One price list for the whole UK
  • Colour-matched on site
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • Most jobs done in one visit

Can I fix it myself?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.
