About our bath repair in Martin's Moss

Repairing baths is what we do most. A chip by the taps, a crack in the base and a rust spot by the plughole are all fixed without removing the bath, typically in a single visit. Typical jobs include a cracked acrylic bath and a kit repair that didn’t last, on roll-top & freestanding, pressed steel enamel and whirlpool & spa baths.

Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

How we price bath repair

Repairs from £95. We price every job individually, from your photos. What matters most is:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The colour and finish to match

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Send photos for a quote

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • The material, if you know it
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Details of any past repairs

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three pictures using our quote form or call us. We’ll tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.

Repair or replace in Martin's Moss?

Cast iron baths in particular are worth repairing: they’re very heavy to remove, especially upstairs, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. Repairing it leaves it where it is. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Why us?

  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Free fixed quotes from pictures

Looking after it afterwards

Simple care helps the repair last. We recommend:

  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
  • Check that an acrylic bath doesn’t move when you stand in it
  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners

For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine.

Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, so water cannot get in. Take it off before we arrive.

Common problems we fix in Martin's Moss

The usual cause is something heavy dropped into the bath, and a lot happen during bathroom refits. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: poor support underneath, so the bath flexes when it’s full.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • Chips along the edge of the bath
  • A failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting
  • A cracked acrylic bath
  • Scuffs and scratches in the surface

What your quote should include

  • When it can be used again
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • What prep work is covered
  • What protection goes down before work starts

Choosing a repair company

Different materials, different repairs

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, in much the same way.

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

What we can’t put right

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
  • Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.

What we do, step by step

Here’s how a visit usually runs: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and clear up. Allow a few hours from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

Can you repair a failed DIY repair?

Yes, we do this often. The old material comes out, any rust is treated, then we repair it properly.

Is a bath repair durable?

Yes, if it’s prepared properly and the bath is sound. It carries our one-year guarantee.

What areas do you cover?

We cover the entire UK, including Martin's Moss and the rest of Cheshire East. Send your postcode with your pictures and we’ll confirm dates.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children.
