Bath repair in Mossend, done in place

You don’t need a new bath because of a chip. We fill the damage, shape it to the curve of the bath and refinish it, with the colour mixed on site so the repair is hard to spot. We are frequently asked to fix rust spots around the plughole and scuffs and scratches in the surface, in acrylic, whirlpool & spa baths and cast iron enamel.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there is a problem and we’ll come back.

What we cannot put right

Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits:

  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
  • A steel bath rusted through

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

DIY repairs versus a professional job

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

How the visit works

You do not need to empty the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. Most jobs take a few hours, depending on the damage, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, generally the next day.

Before we arrive

  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

How to look after the repair

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Have new chips seen to early
  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
  • Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly

Give the repair the full curing time we recommend before running a bath. From then on, mild cleaning is all it needs.

Rust under enamel spreads surprisingly quickly. A chip the size of a fingernail can become a much larger patch if it’s left for months, so it pays to deal with it early.

Your questions about bath repair in Mossend

Will there be a smell?

A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.

How much does bath repair cost in Mossend?

Repairs from £95. We give a fixed quote from your pictures. Send a close-up and a photo of the entire item and your postcode.

Is my repair covered?

Yes: twelve months. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Most of the time. Let us know what was used before and we will plan for it.

Can you repair a failed DIY repair?

Yes. We remove the old filler and start again. Tell us about it when you send photos.

Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?

Normally. Send us a picture of the hole and one from under the bath if you can.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

For landlords and businesses

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Mossend use us as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it generally costs far less than a refit.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

Repair or replace in Mossend?

People often assume a cracked or chipped bath has to come out. In most cases it doesn’t: a repair keeps the bath in service for years, without the cost and upheaval of replacing it. Our bath repair starts from £95. Compared with replacing, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Why us?

  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • Colour-matched on site
  • Everything repaired in place
  • Same prices wherever you are

When to call us in Mossend

The usual cause is something heavy dropped into the bath, and a lot happen during bathroom refits. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: poor support underneath, so the bath flexes when it’s full.

The things customers normally mention when they call are:

  • A hole punched through by something heavy
  • Damage beneath the taps
  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
  • A failed DIY repair that is discoloured or lifting

Questions to ask before you book

  • How long it needs to cure
  • If travel is included in the price
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show

What affects the price in Mossend

Prices start from £95. We give every job a fixed price from photos. These are the things that affect it:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • How much damage there is
  • What the surface is made of

There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

How to get a fixed quote

Before you send photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Any details about the material
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.
