Bath repair in Mousehole without replacing anything
Most bath damage, from chips and cracks to rust spots and holes, is repaired in place. There’s no plumbing to disconnect, the tiles are not touched, and the finish is matched to the rest of the bath. Whether it’s rust spots around the plughole and hairline or through cracks in acrylic, we can usually put it right, whatever the material.
All our work comes with our one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Cornwall.

Can I fix it myself?
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
FAQs for Mousehole
Is a repair better than a new one?
Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it is not worth repairing, we will tell you.
Can tenants book a repair?
Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.
Do you charge for travel?
No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.
What happens next?
We come back with a fixed price, plus dates. You are under no obligation.
What if the damage is worse than the photos show?
We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.
Can pets and children be at home?
Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we’re working in. We’ll let you know when it’s safe to use again.
Do you come to Mousehole?
Yes. We cover the entire UK and come to Mousehole and the rest of Cornwall. Send pictures and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
I tried a repair kit. Can you fix it?
Yes. We take out the old repair and do it properly. Mention it when you send pictures.
What a repair can’t fix
Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs will not solve:
- Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
- Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
- Cracks in acrylic we can’t reach from underneath
Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.
Materials we work on in Mousehole
- Pressed steel enamel
- Acrylic
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Cast iron enamel
Repair or replace in Mousehole?
A repair makes sense whenever the damage is localised. It’s a fraction of the cost of a new bath and fitting, it takes one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Prices start from £95. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Aftercare tips
A little care keeps the finish looking good. Our advice:
- Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
- Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
- Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
- Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
Use gentle, non-abrasive cleaners and avoid dropping heavy items on the repaired area. Deal with new chips early, before rust can start.
Tape over a fresh chip or crack until it’s repaired, to keep water out. Remove it before the repair.
What else we do in Mousehole
How we price bath repair
Repairs from £95. You will know the full cost before booking. We look at:
- Whether we combine several jobs
- The size and number of damaged areas
- The material and finish
- Access to the area
We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
Quotes from your photos
Photographing the damage takes a minute. Try to send:
- Natural light rather than flash
- Details of any past repairs
- Something in shot to show the size
- Where you are, by postcode
For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.
The process
It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, protect the area, and get on with the job, which normally takes a few hours, depending on the damage. If anything looks different from your photos, we will talk to you before going ahead.
- We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
- Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
- We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
- The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
- Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.
How to prepare
- Have a window or extractor fan available
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Ensure the area is dry
