Bath repair near New Brancepeth

How we handle bath repair in New Brancepeth

We repair just the damaged spot and colour-match it to the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath. Most baths can be used again the next day. Common call-outs are for a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting and deep scratches in acrylic, on cast iron enamel, acrylic and whirlpool & spa baths.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything is not right, ring us and we will come back.

Work for landlords and builders

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

Looking after it afterwards

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Rinse it down after each bath
  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby

In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath, avoiding abrasives.

A small chip is a quick job. Leave them and they collect dirt, stain and, on metal baths, rust, so early repair saves time and money.

Should you replace it?

Think about the hidden costs of a new bath: removal and disposal, plumbing, a new panel, tiling and decorating. With a repair, it’s one visit and one price. Our bath repair starts from £95. We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for New Brancepeth. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Why book with us

  • Typically one visit, start to finish
  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide

Repairs by material

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

How it works

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, do the job and tidy away. Plan for two to three hours for most chips from start to finish. Before we go, we’ll explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, usually the following day.

Before we arrive

  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

How to get a price

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed price back. There is no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.

Advice

When we’d advise against a repair

We would rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

Common problems we fix in New Brancepeth

A bath gets knocked about more than you’d think: everyday items get dropped into it all the time, and taps and wastes are tightened against the surface. Over time, chips and rust spots are almost inevitable.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • Cracks in an acrylic bath
  • Deep scratches in acrylic
  • Impact holes in acrylic
  • Rusty patches near the plughole

What to look for in a quote

  • How the room is protected while they work
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • How changes to the job are handled
  • What preparation is included

How to compare quotes

Common questions in New Brancepeth

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.

Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?

Most of the time. We reinforce the crack from behind, then fill and refinish the front, so we need access under the bath.

What do you need from me?

Just pictures, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.

Which areas do you work in?

We work UK-wide. Prices do not change with location.

How much does bath repair cost in New Brancepeth?

Repairs from £95. Every job gets a fixed quote from your pictures. Send a close-up and a picture of the whole item with your DH7 postcode.

How quickly can you book me in?

Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Will the repair last?

Yes, if it’s prepared properly and the bath is sound. It carries our one-year guarantee.
