What a repair can’t fix
Not everything can be repaired, and we will tell you before we start. We cannot fix:
- A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
- Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below
- A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.
Materials we repair
- Cast iron enamel
- Acrylic
- Pressed steel enamel
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Whirlpool & spa baths
Bath repair in New Invention without replacing anything
It pays to repair bath damage while it’s small. Exposed metal on enamelled baths soon rusts, while cracks in acrylic grow each time the bath moves. Repairing it stops the damage getting worse. Whether it’s rust by the waste and overflow and a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting, we can typically put it right, on cast iron enamel, roll-top & freestanding and whirlpool & spa baths alike.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there is a problem and we’ll sort it.

Should I try a DIY kit first?
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
Work for landlords and builders
Hospitality businesses cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.
Should you replace it?
Cast iron baths especially are worth keeping: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. Repairing it leaves it where it is. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing typically costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Repairs by material
Acrylic
An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. They don’t rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.
Pressed steel
Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Chips rust quickly on steel, particularly by the plughole, so early repairs matter.
Keeping it looking good
How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:
- Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
- If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
- Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
- Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
Do not leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, as they can leave rust marks. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.
Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, to keep water out. Remove it before the repair.
The process
Here’s how a visit typically runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and clear up. Allow two to three hours for most chips. Before we go, we’ll explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.
- We protect the bath and the floor around it.
- We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
- We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the next day.
Getting ready for the visit
- Keep a parking space free if you can
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
Getting a price
A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.
