Bath repair near New Kyo

Honest limits

We’d rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through
  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Acrylic
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Cast iron enamel

About our bath repair in New Kyo

Whatever the damage, the aim is the same: a smooth, solid repair that blends in. We prepare the area properly, fill and shape it, then match the colour and gloss so it sits flush with the rest of the bath. Typical jobs include chips on the rim or sides and a chip where the taps sit, across whirlpool & spa baths, roll-top & freestanding and acrylic.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Repair or replace in New Kyo?

A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: the tiles sitting on the rim tend to break, a new panel is often needed, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. Repairing the damage avoids all of that. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you will get a fixed figure.

Why New Kyo clients choose us

  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • No extra charge for your area
  • Work done at your home or business
  • We leave the room as we found it

Read our prices page or guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

How we price bath repair

Repairs from £95. Each job gets its own fixed price. These are the things that affect it:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How much damage there is

The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Getting a price from photos

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what we need:

  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • The material, if you know it
  • A photo taken from further back

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through.

How it works

You don’t need to empty the room. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. Most jobs take a few hours, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the next day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

How to get a price

The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of pictures using our quote form or ring us. We will say straight away if a repair is the right fix.

FAQs for New Kyo

When can you do it?

Your quote comes with available dates. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.

Is the work guaranteed?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes, frequently. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?

Often, if there is access underneath. The hole is backed, filled and refinished to match.

How do I get a price for bath repair in New Kyo?

Repairs from £95. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from pictures. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

When can I have a bath again?

Most baths can be used the day after. We confirm the time before we leave.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Normally, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we will say so.

Are there extra charges for New Kyo?

We don’t add a call-out fee. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

What we’re called out for in New Kyo

Heavy toiletries are the biggest single cause of chips, closely followed by shower heads. Fittings cause damage too: water sits around them, and any chip there soon rusts.

The most common problems we are called about are:

  • Impact holes in acrylic
  • A chipped rim or side
  • Deep scratches in acrylic
  • A failed DIY repair that is discoloured or lifting

Questions to ask before booking

  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • Who will actually do the work
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • Whether the price covers travel

Aftercare tips

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:

  • Ensure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
  • Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
  • Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
  • Keep metal cans and razors off the surface

Do not leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, because they can mark the enamel. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.

If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Every use opens the crack a little more, and it can start to leak underneath.

What your bath is made of matters

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, just like other baths.

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There is no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.
