Norland Town questions

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Do you repair coloured baths?

Yes. We mix the colour on the day to match, including pastel and older colours.

Can you repair a hole in a bath?

Often, if there is access underneath. The hole is backed, filled and refinished to match.

Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?

Often, yes, if we can reach the underside to reinforce it. Check under the bath panel, or send us a photo.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we will say so.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Yes, we frequently do. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

Can you quote from pictures?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.

Do you cover the whole of Calderdale?

We work UK-wide, and that includes Norland Town. Prices do not change with location.

Bath repair in Norland Town without replacing anything

Bath repair is our most common job. Chips on the rim, rust around the waste and cracks in acrylic are all fixed without removing the bath, normally in one visit. Our technicians work on pressed steel enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and acrylic, and the jobs we see most are a kit repair that didn’t last and rust by the waste and overflow.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

DIY kit or professional repair?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Cast iron

Cast iron is heavy and rigid, with a fused enamel surface. Chips can rust if left, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, which makes it well worth repairing.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, in much the same way.

Repairing versus replacing in Norland Town

Replacing a bath rarely stops at the bath: tiles along the rim usually crack when it comes out, a new panel is frequently needed, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. A repair skips all of it. Prices start from £95. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

The process

We work cleanly and quietly, so you can carry on at home. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes a few hours. Before we leave, we explain the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
  2. Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
  3. The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
  4. We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
  5. The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the following day.

Before we arrive

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

Aftercare tips

Nothing complicated is needed:

  • Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it
  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Have new chips seen to early

For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath, avoiding abrasives.

Avoid standing in a cracked acrylic bath until it’s fixed. Each time it flexes, the crack grows, and it can start to leak underneath.

How we price bath repair

Repairs from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • The material
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • How many items we do on one visit

Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

Getting a price from pictures

You can normally get a fixed quote without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • A photo taken from further back
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Any details about the material

For a price in Norland Town, pictures are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

Do you need bath repair in Norland Town?

A bath gets knocked about more than you’d think: bottles, shower heads and razors are dropped every day, and fittings press hard against the enamel. Sooner or later, most baths pick up a chip.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Scuffs and scratches in the surface
  • A kit repair that didn’t last
  • Snagging damage from a refit
  • Damage beneath the taps

Before you book anyone

  • What aftercare is recommended
  • What happens if they find more damage
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
