Bath repair in Norton

Bath repair at your home in Norton

Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. Each material is repaired a little differently: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. Typical jobs include a cracked acrylic bath and chips along the edge of the bath, in roll-top & freestanding, pressed steel enamel and cast iron enamel.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Cast iron baths especially are worth keeping: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. A repair keeps it in place. Prices start from £95. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

What we cannot put right

It helps to know what we cannot do:

  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
  • A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

What your bath is made of matters

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, finished with fired enamel. Chips can rust if left, but the bath itself lasts for generations, which makes it well worth repairing.

Common questions in Norton

Do you repair coloured baths?

Yes, coloured baths are no problem. The colour is tinted by hand on the day.

What areas do you cover?

We cover the entire UK, including Norton and the rest of Dudley. Send your postcode with your photos and we’ll confirm dates.

Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?

Normally, yes, if we can reach behind it. The hole is backed, filled and refinished to match.

Is it messy?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.

Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?

Usually, yes, if we can reach the underside to reinforce it. Check under the bath panel, or send us a photo.

Can rust on a bath be repaired?

Yes, very often. The rust is cut back to clean metal and sealed before we fill and finish it.

How do I get a price for bath repair in Norton?

Prices start from £95. Every job gets a fixed quote from your photos. Send a close-up and a photo of the entire item and your postcode.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Landlords are frequently glad to have it sorted.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

Common problems we fix in Norton

Acrylic baths that crack nearly always have a support problem. Legs that aren’t adjusted, a missing cradle or a soft floor let the base flex until the acrylic gives way.

Look out for these signs:

  • Chips along the edge of the bath
  • Rust spots around the plughole
  • A hole punched through by something heavy
  • A kit repair that didn’t last

Questions to ask before you book

  • What happens if they find more damage
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • Who will actually do the work

Our hiring checklist

Looking after it afterwards

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
  • Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath

Do not leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, as they can leave rust marks. And fix dripping taps promptly.

Avoid standing in a cracked acrylic bath until it’s fixed. Each time it flexes, the crack grows, and it can start to leak underneath.

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. We price every job individually, from your pictures. What matters most is:

  • The material and finish
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Whether we combine several jobs

Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

How to get a fixed quote

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Details of any past repairs

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job the same day in most cases.

How it works

We turn up when we said we would, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. Most visits take a morning or an afternoon, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.

Before we arrive

  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Ask for a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.
