Bath repair at your home in Omagh
Bath repair is our most common job. A chip by the taps, a crack in the base and a rust spot by the plughole are all fixed without removing the bath, usually in a single visit. If you have impact holes in acrylic and chips on the rim or sides, we can help, on acrylic, pressed steel enamel and cast iron enamel alike.
Many homes in central Omagh have compact bathrooms, where taking a bath out would disturb tiles and plumbing. Bath repair avoids that.
Every job is backed for twelve months in Omagh and everywhere else. We return to put right any problem with the work.

What your bath is made of matters
Pressed steel
Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Exposed steel rusts fast, particularly by the plughole, so early repairs matter.
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.
Omagh: your questions answered
My house in Omagh is a period property. Is the original worth keeping?
Generally, yes. Older baths are frequently worth repairing rather than replacing. Photos let us tell you what we’d recommend.
Is my repair covered?
All our work carries our one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.
How long does the repair take to cure?
Normally by the following day, though it depends on what we’ve done.
How quickly can you book me in?
That depends on our diary for your area. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.
Is a bath repair durable?
Done properly, a repair lasts for years, and it’s guaranteed for a year. Gentle cleaning helps it last.
Can you repair a failed DIY repair?
Yes. We take out the old repair and do it properly. Mention it when you send pictures.
How do I book?
Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we’ll take it from there.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
Typically, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

What bath repair costs
Prices start from £95. We price every job individually, from your photos. The main factors are:
- What the surface is made of
- Access to the area
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- How much damage there is
What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.
Quotes from your pictures
It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Try to send:
- Any details about the material
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- Something in shot to show the size
There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.
How the visit works
On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we will get on with it. Most visits take a morning or an afternoon, tidy-up included. We book visits in Omagh the same way as everywhere, with an arrival time agreed in advance. If you are in a flat or a town-centre street, tell us about parking and stairs.
- We protect the bath and the floor around it.
- We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
- We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, typically the next day.
Preparing for the visit
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
- Keep a parking space clear if you can
- Ensure the room can be ventilated
How to get a price
We price from photos so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.

Common problems we fix in Omagh
Damage during fitting is very common. Tradespeople drop tools and tiles into the bath, and the damage isn’t always spotted until later. Snagging repairs like these are a regular job for us.
Common reasons people in Omagh contact us are:
- A cracked acrylic bath
- Chips caused by builders
- Chips along the edge of the bath
- A kit repair that didn’t last
If you live in one of the older homes near a church such as Clanabogan Church, it may still have its original cast iron bath, which is well worth repairing or re-enamelling rather than replacing.

DIY kit or professional repair?
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.
When we would advise against a repair
It helps to know what we cannot do too:
- Cracks in acrylic we can’t reach from underneath
- A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
- Metal that has corroded all the way through
Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

How to care for the repair
Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:
- Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
- Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
- Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
- Check that an acrylic bath doesn’t move when you stand in it
Look after the repair the same way as the bath: warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Avoid scourers and gritty cream cleaners.
A chip on a metal bath shouldn’t be left. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.
