Bath repair near Owlhill

Bath repair in Owlhill, done in place

Whatever has happened to the bath, we aim for the same result: a smooth, solid repair that blends in. Proper preparation, careful filling and shaping, then colour and gloss matching so it sits flush with the rest of the bath. Typical jobs include a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting and damage done while the bathroom was being fitted, across acrylic, cast iron enamel and pressed steel enamel.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Work for landlords and builders

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Owlhill use us as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

If you manage property in Owlhill, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send pictures for each address and we will price them together.

What a repair cannot fix

To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

How the visit works

Here’s how a visit generally runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and clear up. Allow a few hours, depending on the damage. Before we go, we’ll explain how long to leave it and how to care for it.

  1. First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Point us to the nearest place to park

Getting a price

There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Owlhill questions

Can you quote from photos?

Nearly always. If pictures don’t show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

Is there a guarantee?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

How quickly can you book me in?

Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?

Typically. Photos of the hole and the underside help us check.

Can rust on a bath be repaired?

Yes. We remove the rust and loose enamel, seal and fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Is there a call-out fee?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Which areas do you work in?

All of Worcestershire, and the rest of the UK. There’s no extra charge for travel.

Will the repair last?

Yes, if it’s prepared properly and the bath is sound. It’s covered by our one-year guarantee.

Do you need bath repair in Owlhill?

Acrylic baths that crack nearly always have a support problem. Legs that are not adjusted, a missing cradle or a soft floor let the base flex until the acrylic gives way.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • A chipped rim or side
  • Scratches you can feel with a fingernail
  • Rust by the waste and overflow
  • Impact holes in acrylic

Our hiring checklist

Repair or replace: which is better?

Cast iron baths in particular are worth repairing: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and replacing like for like isn’t cheap. Repairing it leaves it where it is. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

What you get with us

  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • Everything repaired in place

Read our prices page or guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Looking after it afterwards

Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:

  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
  • Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • Cover the bath during DIY or decorating

Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and avoid dropping heavy items on the repaired area. Get any new chip seen to quickly, before rust sets in.

If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath until it’s repaired. Water under the bath can damage the floor and the ceiling below.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
