About our bath repair in Palnure

Repairing baths is what we do most. A chip by the taps, a crack in the base and a rust spot by the plughole are all repaired in place, usually in a single visit. If you’re dealing with cracks in an acrylic bath and scuffs and scratches in the surface, we can help.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you’re covered after the visit.

What affects the price in Palnure

Prices start from £95. Each job gets its own fixed price. This is what makes a difference:

  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • What the surface is made of
  • What kind of damage it is

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Getting a price from photos

You can generally get a fixed price without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

Upload photos of the damage and one of the entire item, and tell us you are in Palnure, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.

Why repair rather than replace?

Cast iron baths in particular are worth repairing: they’re very heavy to remove, especially upstairs, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. Repairing it leaves it where it is. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Why book with us

  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • One visit for most repairs
  • Rooms protected and left tidy

See our pricing or resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

How the visit works

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we’re there. We protect the area first, then the work takes a few hours, depending on the damage. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, typically the day after.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Make sure the area is dry

Getting a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them over. You will get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

Repairs by material

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. There is no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

When a repair is not the answer

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:

  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

For landlords and businesses

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Palnure as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

When to call us in Palnure

Heavy toiletries are the biggest single cause of chips, closely followed by shower heads. Fittings cause damage too: water collects there, so chips nearby rust quickly.

Send us a picture if you notice any of these:

  • A chip where the taps sit
  • Chips along the edge of the bath
  • Rust spots around the plughole
  • Holes from dropped items

What your quote should include

  • How your room will be protected
  • How soon you can use it again
  • A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges

Our hiring checklist

Keeping it looking good

So the finish stays in good condition for years:

  • Have new chips seen to early
  • Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early

There is nothing special to do after a repair, just sensible cleaning. Skip bleach and gritty creams and give it a rinse after each bath.

A chip on a metal bath shouldn’t be left. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, turning a quick repair into a bigger one.

Palnure: your questions answered

How invisible is a bath repair?

On a bath in good condition, a colour matched repair is very hard to spot. On worn enamel, it can look shinier than the rest.

Can rust on a bath be repaired?

Yes. We take out the rust and any loose enamel, seal and fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

When can you do it?

We will give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.

Can pets and children be at home?

Just keep them out of the work area. We’ll let you know when it’s safe to use again.

Can you repair a failed DIY repair?

Yes. We remove the old filler and start again. Mention it when you send pictures.

What areas do you cover?

We work UK-wide. Our prices are the same everywhere.

Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?

Often, if there is access underneath. We back the hole, fill it and refinish the surface.

How long does the repair take to cure?

Normally by the following day, though it depends on what we’ve done.
