Bath repair in Pickburn

Bath repair at your home in Pickburn

Most of our bath repairs take a few hours, and the bath is back in use the day after. You won’t need a plumber or tiler, because nothing is disconnected. Common call-outs are for chips along the edge of the bath and deep scratches in acrylic, on cast iron enamel, pressed steel enamel and whirlpool & spa baths.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything is not right, ring us and we will come back.

Can I fix it myself?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.

Repair or replace in Pickburn?

Cast iron baths especially are worth keeping: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and replacing like for like is not cheap. Repairing it leaves it where it is. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Pickburn. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • The material and finish
  • What kind of damage it is
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Whether we combine several jobs

A repair generally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Quotes from your photos

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what to send:

  • Any details about the material
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

If you are in Pickburn and want a price, the easiest route is photos: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

Honest limits

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

How it works

We work cleanly and quietly, so you can stay at home while we are there. We protect the area first, then the job itself takes a few hours, depending on the damage. At the end we talk you through the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
  2. The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
  3. The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can typically use the bath the day after.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

Advice

Repairs by material

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, just like other baths.

FAQs for Pickburn

Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?

Often, if there’s access underneath. We back the hole, fill it and refinish the surface.

What do you need from me?

Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we will do the rest.

Can rust on a bath be repaired?

Yes, it’s one of the most common repairs we do. The rust is cut back to clean metal and sealed before we fill and finish it.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit generally costs less than separate visits. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?

Often, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Take off the bath panel and check, or send us a picture.

Can you redo an old repair?

Yes, we do this often. The old material comes out, any rust is treated, then we repair it properly.

Is there a guarantee?

All our work carries a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Do you do work for letting agents?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Work for landlords and builders

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

How to care for the repair

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it
  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale

There’s nothing special to do after a repair, just sensible cleaning. Avoid bleach-based and gritty cleaners and rinse after use.

Tape over a fresh chip or crack until it’s repaired, so water can’t get in. Remove it before the repair.
