What affects the price in Picketts Lock

Prices start from £95. You won’t pay by the hour. The price depends on:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • What kind of damage it is
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The size and number of damaged areas

Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

Getting a price from photos

You can typically get a fixed price without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

If you’re in Picketts Lock and want a price, pictures are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You will get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

Bath repair at your home in Picketts Lock

Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. Each material is repaired a little differently: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. We’re frequently asked to fix cracks in an acrylic bath and an old repair that has yellowed or come loose, across roll-top & freestanding, pressed steel enamel and acrylic.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will sort it.

Should you replace it?

People often assume a cracked or chipped bath has to come out. In most cases it does not: a repair keeps the bath in service for years, and costs far less than the disruption of a replacement. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

What you get with us

Keeping it looking good

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:

  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
  • Do not leave a fresh chip for long
  • Don’t scrub with anything abrasive

Care for the repair the same way as the bath: a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs. Keep scouring pads and gritty cleaners away from it.

If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath until it’s repaired. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.

When a repair is not the answer

Some jobs aren’t right for a repair, for example:

  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Cast iron enamel
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic

What your bath is made of matters

Pressed steel

Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so repair chips early.

Cast iron

Cast iron is heavy and rigid, finished with fired enamel. Chips can rust if left, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, which makes it well worth repairing.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

For landlords and businesses

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

What we do, step by step

On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll get on with it. Most visits take a few hours, depending on the damage.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
  2. We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
  3. We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
  4. We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
  5. Once it has cured, normally by the following day, the bath is ready to use.

Preparing for the visit

  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
