About bath repair in N18
A repair fixes just the damaged area and blends it into the rest of the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath and the tiles around it. Most baths can be used again the following day. Typical jobs include chips caused by builders and deep scratches in acrylic, on whirlpool & spa baths, roll-top & freestanding and pressed steel enamel.
You do not need to empty the room. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we’ve agreed what we are doing. It typically takes a few hours, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
- Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
- The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
- We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
- The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the next day.
Pricing in N18
Our bath repair starts from £95. We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for N18. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Looking after it afterwards
A little care keeps the finish looking good. Our advice:
- Don’t scrub with anything abrasive
- Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
- Do not leave a fresh chip for long
- Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath
There is nothing special to do after a repair. Skip bleach and gritty creams and give it a rinse after each bath.
Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, so water can’t get in. Take it off before we arrive.
Signs you need bath repair
Most bath damage comes from something dropped: a shampoo bottle, a shower head, a tile or a tool during a refit. On enamelled baths, any chip down to the metal lets water in, and rust follows.
Most people get in touch after spotting one of these:
- An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
- A chipped rim or side
- Rusty patches near the plughole
- Damage done while the bathroom was being fitted
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, with a fused enamel surface. Chips can rust if left, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, so it’s always worth repairing.
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £95. You’ll know the full cost before you book. We take into account:
- How hard the colour is to match
- How many items we do on one visit
- The size and number of damaged areas
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
How to get a fixed price
Before you send photos, a few simple things make all the difference:
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- One picture of the whole bath
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
Send us a picture of the damage and one of the whole item, and tell us you’re in N18, and we will come back with a fixed quote.
Landlords, agents and businesses in N18
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, photos and access details and we’ll arrange it.
Questions from N18
When can I have a bath again?
Most baths can be used the following day. We’ll tell you the exact curing time when we finish.
Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?
Most of the time. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so we need access under the bath.
Do you cover N18?
Yes, we do. We send a technician to N18 for every job, with no extra charge for travel.
What happens once I’ve sent photos?
We look at the pictures and reply with a fixed price and some dates. If we need another angle, we’ll ask.
Will the repair show?
On a bath in good condition, a colour matched repair is very hard to spot. On older, dull enamel the repair can look glossier than the area around it.
Is a bath repair permanent?
Yes, if it’s prepared properly and the bath is sound. It carries our one-year guarantee.
Are you accredited?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.
