Bath repair in Pipe Gate without replacing anything
Whatever the damage, the aim is the same: a smooth, solid repair that blends in. Proper preparation, careful filling and shaping, then colour and gloss matching so it’s level with the surrounding surface. Our repair technicians work on acrylic, roll-top & freestanding and whirlpool & spa baths, and people most often call us about chips along the edge of the bath and chips caused by builders.
You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we’ll come back.

The process
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you are happy with the plan. Most jobs take two to three hours for most chips, and you can get on with other things while we are there.
- We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
- Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
- We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
- The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
- The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.
Before we arrive
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
- Have a window or extractor fan available

Pipe Gate questions
Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?
Often, yes, if we can reach the underside to reinforce it. Take off the bath panel and check, or send us a photo.
Do you cover Pipe Gate?
Yes. We cover the whole UK and come to Pipe Gate and the rest of Shropshire. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.
What does bath repair cost?
Repairs from £95. Every job gets a fixed quote from your photos. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.
How invisible is a bath repair?
We aim for a repair you can’t easily find. The rest of the bath’s condition makes a difference, and we will tell you what to expect.
Can you redo an old repair?
Yes. We remove the old filler and start again. Mention it when you send pictures.
How soon can you come?
It depends on the time of year and where you are. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.
Is a bath repair permanent?
Yes, if it’s prepared properly and the bath is sound. It carries our one-year guarantee.
Repair or replace: which is better?
When the bath is otherwise sound, repairing beats replacing. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and the bathroom stays as it is. If the entire surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we will tell you. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

How to look after the repair
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:
- Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
- Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
- Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
- Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
Do not leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, because they can mark the enamel. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.
Tape over a fresh chip or crack until it’s repaired, so water can’t get in. Remove it before the repair.

What else we do in Pipe Gate
Landlord and trade work in Pipe Gate
Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Pipe Gate use us as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
Do you need bath repair in Pipe Gate?
The usual cause is something heavy dropped into the bath, and building work is a common culprit. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: the bath is not properly supported, so it flexes under weight.
Most people get in touch after spotting something like this:
- Scuffs and scratches in the surface
- Rust by the waste and overflow
- Cracks in an acrylic bath
- Chips on the rim or sides

When we’d advise against a repair
To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:
- Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
- Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
- Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath
Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £95. We give every job a fixed price from photos. These are the things that affect it:
- How many items we do on one visit
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- How much damage there is
- How easy the damage is to reach
Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Pipe Gate. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
How to get a fixed price
Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Try to send:
- Details of any past repairs
- A wider photo showing the entire bath
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.
