Bath repair in Raglan without replacing anything

We see every kind of bath damage: chips from dropped bottles, rust round the plughole, cracks in acrylic and holes from falling tools. Each is repaired in place. Our repair technicians work on acrylic, roll-top & freestanding and cast iron enamel, and common reasons people get in touch are rusty patches near the plughole and a kit repair that didn’t last.

Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee.

Repairing versus replacing in Raglan

A new bath costs more than the bath itself: taking out the old one, plumbing, tiling, a panel and redecorating. A repair is one job, done in one visit. Prices start from £95. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Why book with us

  • Free fixed quotes from pictures
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, just like other baths.

Pressed steel

Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Chips rust quickly on steel, particularly by the plughole, so repair chips early.

What happens on the day

We work cleanly and quietly. We protect the area first, then the job itself takes a morning or an afternoon. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to care for it.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

Landlords, agents and businesses in Raglan

For anyone letting property in or around Raglan, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Send photos for each one and we’ll come back with a combined price.

Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

When we would advise against a repair

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below
  • A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
  • A steel bath rusted through

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

Materials we work on in Raglan

  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

Looking after it afterwards

How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
  • Check that an acrylic bath doesn’t move when you stand in it
  • Have new chips seen to early

Treat the repaired area like the rest of the bath: warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Keep scouring pads and gritty cleaners away from it.

Rust under enamel spreads surprisingly quickly. A chip the size of a fingernail can become a much larger patch if it’s left for months, so early repair keeps the cost down.

Raglan: your questions answered

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Usually, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?

Often, if there is access underneath. We back the hole, fill it and refinish the surface.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Do you cover Raglan?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and travel to Raglan. Send photos and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Will I be able to see the repair?

On a glossy bath, you’ll struggle to find it. On worn enamel, it can look shinier than the rest.

What information do you need?

Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we’ll take it from there.

Can rust on a bath be repaired?

Yes. We remove the rust and loose enamel, fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?

Yes. The colour is mixed on site to suit your bath, including older coloured suites.

Do you need bath repair in Raglan?

Many chips happen while the bathroom is being fitted. Tradespeople drop tools and tiles into the bath, and the damage isn’t always spotted until later. We repair snagging damage like this regularly.

Look out for any of the following:

  • A chip where the taps sit
  • Deep scratches in acrylic
  • A chipped rim or side
  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic

Questions to ask before booking

  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • If travel is included in the price
