Need bath repair in Redbridge?

Bath repair in Redbridge, done in place

Bath repair is our most common job. Chips on the rim, rust around the waste and cracks in acrylic are all fixed without removing the bath, normally in one visit. We regularly repair whirlpool & spa baths, acrylic and roll-top & freestanding, and common reasons people contact us are a chipped rim or side and snagging damage from a refit.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Redbridge as everywhere else we work.

Work for landlords and builders

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Redbridge as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

What we’re called out for in Redbridge

The usual cause is something heavy dropped into the bath, and a lot happen during bathroom refits. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: the bath isn’t properly supported, so it flexes under weight.

These are the problems we’re asked about most:

  • A kit repair that didn’t last
  • Damage done while the bathroom was being fitted
  • Chips along the edge of the bath
  • Rusty patches near the plughole

What to look for in a quote

  • Who turns up on the day
  • How long it needs to cure
  • How the room is protected while they work
  • What aftercare is recommended

Our hiring checklist

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, in much the same way.

Cast iron

Cast iron is heavy and rigid, finished with fired enamel. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, so it’s always worth repairing.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We look at:

  • The type of damage
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Unusual colours or finishes

The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Getting a price from photos

You can usually get a fixed price without us visiting. To make it quick:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

For a price in Redbridge, the easiest route is pictures: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. You will get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

Common questions in Redbridge

Do you work in Redbridge?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Redbridge and the rest of Southampton. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Will the repair show?

On a glossy bath, you’ll struggle to find it. On older, dull enamel the repair can look glossier than the area around it.

Can you match an avocado or pink bath?

Yes. The colour is mixed on site to suit your bath, including older coloured suites.

Can you repair a failed DIY repair?

Yes. We remove the old filler and start again. Tell us about it when you send photos.

Is there a call-out fee?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Just ensure the landlord agrees.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

What happens next?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote and the next dates we have.

Why repair rather than replace?

For damage in one or two places, a repair is the obvious choice. It costs far less than a new bath plus fitting, it’s done in one visit, and the bathroom stays exactly as it is. Prices start from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why Redbridge clients choose us

What we do, step by step

Your technician turns up when we said we would, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. Most visits take a few hours, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
  2. The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
  3. We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
  4. Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
  5. Once it has cured, usually by the next day, the bath is ready to use.

Before we arrive

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Let us know about parking or access

How to get a price

You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

When a repair is not the answer

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.
