Bath repair near Relubbus

For landlords and businesses

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Relubbus use us as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it normally costs far less than a refit.

Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Bath repair in Relubbus, done in place

Most of our bath repairs take a few hours, and the bath is back in use the day after. You won’t need a plumber or tiler, because nothing is disconnected. We’re frequently asked to fix a chipped rim or side and scratches you can feel with a fingernail, on pressed steel enamel, cast iron enamel and roll-top & freestanding.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right.

FAQs for Relubbus

Can you redo an old repair?

Yes. We remove the old filler and start again. Tell us about it when you send pictures.

What areas do you cover?

Across the UK. Prices do not change with location.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

Do you come to Relubbus?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Relubbus and the rest of Cornwall. Send pictures and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is there a guarantee?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Most of the time. Tell us what was done before and we’ll plan for it.

How long before I can use the bath?

Most baths can be used the next day. We will tell you the exact curing time when we finish.

How to compare quotes

Why repair rather than replace?

Cast iron baths in particular are worth repairing: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and replacing like for like is not cheap. A repair keeps it in place. Our bath repair starts from £95. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Why us?

  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • One visit for most repairs
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year

What your bath is made of matters

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, finished with fired enamel. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the bath itself lasts for generations, so it’s always worth repairing.

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. There is no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

What we can’t put right

It helps to know what we cannot do too:

  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below
  • A steel bath rusted through

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before booking.

What we work on

  • Cast iron enamel
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Roll-top & freestanding

What we do, step by step

There is not much you need to do on the day. Let us in and show us the room, and we will take it from there. Most visits take a few hours.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

Getting a price

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.
