Bath chip & crack repair in Reston, Scottish Borders
Fixed-price bath repair in Reston and the surrounding area, normally in one visit.
- Repairs from £95
- A chip where the taps sit
- Rust spots around the plughole

Aftercare tips
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Check that an acrylic bath does not move when you stand in it
- Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
- Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
- Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine.
Tape over a fresh chip or crack until it’s repaired, to keep water out. Take it off before we arrive.
Bath repair at your home in Reston
Bath repair is our most common job. Chips on the rim, rust around the waste and cracks in acrylic are all fixed without removing the bath, normally in a single visit. Our technicians work on roll-top & freestanding, cast iron enamel and pressed steel enamel, and people most often call us about rust by the waste and overflow and damage done while the bathroom was being fitted.
Every repair is covered by a one-year guarantee.

What else we do in Reston
Honest limits
We would rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so these are the limits:
- A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
- Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
- Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before booking.

Reston: your questions answered
Are you accredited?
Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.
What if the damage is worse than the photos show?
Your quote covers the damage in the photos. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.
Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?
Often, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Take off the bath panel and check, or send us a photo.
Do you come to Reston?
We do. We send a technician to Reston for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.
Will there be a smell?
A little, depending on the job. Open windows and an extractor fan help, and it soon fades.
What areas do you cover?
The whole UK, including all of the Scottish Borders. Send your postcode with your photos and we will confirm dates.
How long does the repair take to cure?
Typically the day after. We confirm the time before we leave.
What do you need from me?
Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787.
Why repair rather than replace?
Cast iron baths in particular are worth repairing: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and replacing like for like isn’t cheap. A repair keeps it in place. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
Why us?
- Dust sheets down, tidy finish
- Colour mixed on the day to match
- One visit for most repairs
- Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide

What we are called out for in Reston
Glass and heavy bottles cause more chips than anything else, closely followed by shower heads. Taps and wastes cause problems too: water collects there, so chips nearby rust quickly.
People typically call us when they notice one of these:
- A chip where the taps sit
- A failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting
- Holes from dropped items
- Chips caused by builders
Before booking anyone
- Who turns up on the day
- The length of the guarantee and what it covers
- How to care for the finish
- How the room is protected while they work
Should I try a DIY kit first?
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.
A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
Landlord and trade work in Reston
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.
Different materials, different repairs
Composite and resin
Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
How it works
Here’s how a visit generally runs: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and clear up. Allow a morning or an afternoon from start to finish. Before we go, we will explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.
- We protect the bath and the floor around it.
- The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
- We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, generally the following day.
Getting ready for the visit
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
- Clear the area around the damage
