How we handle bath repair in Ruardean Woodside

Chips, cracks, rust spots and small holes is repaired in place. Nothing is unplumbed, your tiles stay as they are, and the repaired area is colour-matched so it blends in. Our technicians work on whirlpool & spa baths, acrylic and cast iron enamel, and the jobs we see most are cracks in an acrylic bath and a kit repair that didn’t last.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we’ll come back.

Letting agents frequently send us pictures straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Ruardean Woodside as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it typically costs far less than a refit.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. We price every job individually. The main factors are:

  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • How many areas need work
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • The material and finish

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Getting a price from photos

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Details of any past repairs

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

Common questions in Ruardean Woodside

Can tenants book a repair?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?

In most cases. Send us a picture of the hole and one from under the bath if you can.

Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?

Most of the time. We reinforce the crack from behind, then fill and refinish the front, so we need access under the bath.

How do I book?

Just pictures, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, access to the room.

Is there a call-out fee?

We don’t add a call-out fee. Your fixed price includes everything.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

How soon can you come?

Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Will the repair last?

A properly prepared repair should last a long time, and it’s guaranteed for a year. Gentle cleaning helps.

Why repair rather than replace?

People frequently assume a cracked or chipped bath has to come out. Generally it does not: a repair keeps the bath in service for years, and costs far less than the disruption of a replacement. Prices start from £95. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking, with no extras added later.

Why us?

  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Colour-matched on site
  • Fixed prices from your photos
  • No need to remove anything

When to call us in Ruardean Woodside

A bath gets knocked about more than you’d think: bottles, shower heads and razors are dropped every day, and fittings press hard against the enamel. Over time, chips and rust spots are almost inevitable.

If you can see any of these, send us a photo:

  • A cracked acrylic bath
  • A chip where the taps sit
  • Impact holes in acrylic
  • Snagging damage from a refit

What your quote should include

  • What prep work is covered
  • If travel is included in the price
  • Who turns up on the day
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?

Choosing a repair company

When we’d advise against a repair

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below
  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

What your bath is made of matters

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There’s no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.

How the visit works

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and tidy away. Plan for a few hours from start to finish. Before we go, we’ll explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, typically the day after.

Preparing for the visit

  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Let us know about parking or access

How to look after the repair

To keep it looking its best:

  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
  • Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
  • Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning

Use gentle, non-abrasive cleaners and try not to drop heavy bottles on the repair. Get any new chip seen to quickly, before rust sets in.

Rust spreads under enamel faster than most people expect. Left for months, a small chip can grow into a large rust patch, so it pays to deal with it early.
