Bath repair near Sandwell

When we would advise against a repair

Not everything can be repaired, and we will tell you before we start. We can’t fix:

  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Surfaces we repair

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

Bath repair in Sandwell, done in place

Whatever the damage, the aim is the same: a smooth, solid repair that blends in. Proper preparation, careful filling and shaping, then colour and gloss matching so it’s level with the surrounding surface. We’re often asked to fix rust by the waste and overflow and chips caused by builders, on cast iron enamel, roll-top & freestanding and pressed steel enamel.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Sandwell as everywhere else we work.

Different materials, different repairs

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

How the visit works

There’s not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll get on with it. Most visits take a morning or an afternoon, including clearing up.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

Related advice

What bath repair costs

Prices start from £95. We price every job individually, from your pictures. The main factors are:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How much damage there is
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • What kind of damage it is

There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Quotes from your photos

Photographing the damage takes a minute. Try to send:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • What it’s made of, if you know

If you’re in Sandwell and want a price, photos are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

Aftercare tips

Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:

  • Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it
  • Do not leave razors or cans standing in the bath
  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
  • Don’t scrub with anything abrasive

For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine.

Don’t leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.

Work for landlords and builders

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Birmingham and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

Common questions in Sandwell

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include photos of each item.

Is my repair covered?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Will the repair last?

It should, as long as the bath is firm and the area was prepared well. It’s covered by our one-year guarantee.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Usually, yes. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.

Which areas do you work in?

Across the UK, so Sandwell is covered. Prices do not change with location.

Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?

Generally, yes, if we can reach behind it. The hole is backed, filled and refinished to match.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Just keep them out of the work area. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.

Will the price change on the day?

If we find something the photos didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Do you need bath repair in Sandwell?

Damage during fitting is very common. Tradespeople drop tools and tiles into the bath, frequently before anyone notices. We repair snagging damage like this regularly.

Look out for any of the following:

  • A hole punched through by something heavy
  • Damage done while the bathroom was being fitted
  • Cracks in an acrylic bath
  • Deep scratches in acrylic

Questions to ask before booking

  • How the room is protected while they work
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
