How we handle bath repair in Saron

Most of our bath repairs take a few hours, and the bath is back in use the day after. There’s no need to book a plumber or tiler, because the bath doesn’t move. We are often asked to fix damage beneath the taps and chips along the edge of the bath, across pressed steel enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and acrylic.

Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee.

Common problems we fix in Saron

Rust generally starts where water sits, around the waste, under the taps or in an old chip. Water on bare metal causes rust that creeps under the surrounding enamel.

Send us a picture if you notice any of these:

  • A chipped rim or side
  • A chip where the taps sit
  • An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
  • Holes from dropped items

Our hiring checklist

Landlord and trade work in Saron

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Carmarthenshire and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

When we’d advise against a repair

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below
  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

Surfaces we repair

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel

What your bath is made of matters

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. They don’t rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, in much the same way.

Your questions about bath repair in Saron

Is it messy?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we have finished.

Do you come to Saron?

We do. Technicians travel to Saron from across the region, with no extra charge for travel.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are frequently glad to have it sorted.

What happens if you find more damage?

Your quote covers the damage in the pictures. If there is more, we’ll tell you before starting.

Can you quote from photos?

Nearly always. If photos don’t show enough, we will ask for another angle.

Is there a call-out fee?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes, often. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

What does bath repair cost?

Prices start from £95. We give a fixed quote based on pictures of the damage. Send a close-up and a photo of the whole item and your postcode.

What affects the price in Saron

Repairs from £95. You will not pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Access to the area
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

How to get a fixed price

Phone pictures are fine. Just make sure we can see:

  • Something in shot to show the size
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • The material, if you know it

For a price in Saron, pictures are the quickest way: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

The process

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, protect the area, and get on with the job, which normally takes two to three hours for most chips. If anything looks different from your photos, we’ll talk to you before going ahead.

  1. We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
  2. Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
  3. The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. Once it has cured, normally by the next day, the bath is ready to use.

How to prepare

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Let us know about parking or access

Related advice

Looking after it afterwards

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Do not leave a fresh chip for long
  • Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it
  • Rinse it down after each bath
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early

Treat the repaired area like the rest of the bath: warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Avoid scourers and gritty cream cleaners.

Avoid standing in a cracked acrylic bath until it’s fixed. Every use opens the crack a little more, and it can start to leak underneath.
