Do you need bath repair in Seafield?
Nearly all the chips we see start with something being dropped: a shampoo bottle, a shower head, a tile or a tool during a refit. On steel and cast iron baths, a chip that reaches the metal will start to rust.
Send us a photo if you notice any of these:
- A chipped rim or side
- A chip where the taps sit
- Snagging damage from a refit
- Deep scratches in acrylic

A typical bath repair is a few hours’ work, and the bath is back in use the day after. There’s no need to book a plumber or tiler, because the bath does not move. Common call-outs are for rust by the waste and overflow and hairline or through cracks in acrylic, in whirlpool & spa baths, cast iron enamel and roll-top & freestanding.
The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

How we price bath repair
Prices start from £95. There is no charge for travel to Seafield. The price comes down to:
- Whether we combine several jobs
- The size and number of damaged areas
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- What the surface is made of
Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
Quotes from your photos
Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- Something in shot to show the size
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- A picture taken from further back
Upload a photo of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, with your EH6 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

What we can’t put right
To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:
- Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling
- Cracks in acrylic we can’t reach from underneath
- Metal that has corroded all the way through
Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.
Materials we repair
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Cast iron enamel
- Acrylic
- Pressed steel enamel
- Whirlpool & spa baths
Repairs by material
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
What happens on the day
We begin by going over the job with you. After that, protection goes down around the work area and we start. Allow a few hours, depending on the damage, and we’ll keep you posted as we go.
- We protect the bath and the floor around it.
- The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
- Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the next day.
Before we arrive
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
- Ensure the room can be ventilated
How to get a price
Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. Quotes are free and no obligation.
Related advice
Should I try a DIY kit first?
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.
Common questions in Seafield
Can you quote from photos?
Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
Just keep them out of the work area. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.
How invisible is a bath repair?
On a bath in good condition, a colour-matched repair is very hard to spot. On older, dull enamel the repair can look glossier than the area around it.
Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?
Often, yes, if we can reach the underside to reinforce it. Take off the bath panel and check, or send us a picture.
How long does the repair take to cure?
Generally within a day, though it depends on what we have done.
Can you fix rust around the plughole?
Yes. We remove the rust and loose enamel, fill the area, then colour-match the finish.
Do you repair coloured baths?
Yes. The colour is mixed on site to suit your bath, including older coloured suites.
Will you leave a mess?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

Why repair rather than replace?
Cast iron baths in particular are worth repairing: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. A repair keeps it in place. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.
