Seaside questions

Can you redo an old repair?

Yes, we do this often. The old material comes out, any rust is treated, then we repair it properly.

Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?

Often, if there is access underneath. The hole is backed, filled and refinished to match.

How do I get a price for bath repair in Seaside?

Prices start from £95. Because every job differs, we price from pictures. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes, frequently. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. You will not be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

What do you need from me?

Just pictures, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, access to the room.

Do you repair coloured baths?

Yes, we match coloured baths too. We tint the finish to your bath on site.

Can you price it without visiting?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

Bath repair in Seaside without replacing anything

You don’t need a new bath because of a chip. Our technicians fill, shape and refinish the damage, mixing the colour on the day so the repair is hard to spot. Our repair technicians work on whirlpool & spa baths, acrylic and pressed steel enamel, and common reasons people contact us are cracks in an acrylic bath and an old repair that has yellowed or come loose.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Cast iron

Cast iron is heavy and rigid, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the bath itself lasts for generations, which makes it well worth repairing.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

Honest limits

In fairness, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:

  • Metal that has corroded all the way through
  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Materials we work on in Seaside

  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Acrylic

How to care for the repair

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
  • Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
  • Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
  • Give the bath a quick rinse after use

Leave the repair to cure for as long as we say before using the bath. After that, gentle cleaning keeps it looking good.

A small chip is a quick job. Leave them and they collect dirt, stain and, on metal baths, rust, so it’s worth getting them done early.

For landlords and businesses

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Seaside as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

Repairing versus replacing in Seaside

Replacing a bath rarely stops at the bath: tiles along the rim normally crack when it comes out, the panel may not fit the new one, and the plumbing has to be disconnected and refitted. A repair skips all of it. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

What you get with us

  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • Generally one visit, start to finish
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • A fixed quote before booking

Signs you need bath repair in Seaside

Many chips happen while the bathroom is being fitted. Tools, tiles and fittings get dropped into the bath, and the damage isn’t always spotted until later. We repair snagging damage like this regularly.

Send us a picture if you notice any of these:

  • A cracked acrylic bath
  • Scratches you can feel with a fingernail
  • A chipped rim or side
  • Rust spots around the plughole

What to look for in a quote

  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • If travel is included in the price
  • How long it needs to cure
  • What protection goes down before work starts

Our hiring checklist

The process

We begin by going over the job with you, so there are no surprises. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and we start. It normally takes a few hours.

  1. We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
  2. The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
  3. We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
  4. We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can generally use the bath the next day.

Before we arrive

  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Ask for a price
