Bath repair at your home in Sledmere
Whatever the damage, the aim is the same: a repair that is smooth, sound and hard to spot. Proper preparation, careful filling and shaping, then colour and gloss matching so it sits flush with the rest of the bath. Typical jobs include scratches you can feel with a fingernail and cracks in an acrylic bath, in acrylic, roll-top & freestanding and whirlpool & spa baths.
Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

What we’re called out for in Sledmere
Rust tends to begin where water collects, by the plughole, beneath dripping taps or in an unrepaired chip. Water on bare metal causes rust that creeps under the surrounding enamel.
If you can see any of these, send us a photo:
- Deep scratches in acrylic
- Rust by the waste and overflow
- Chips caused by builders
- Chips on the rim or sides

Sledmere questions
Will the price change on the day?
If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.
Do you charge for travel?
We do not add a call-out fee. Your fixed quote includes everything.
How long before I can use the bath?
Normally by the following day, depending on the repair.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.
Will it make a mess?
Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.
What happens next?
You will get a fixed quote back, typically with dates to choose from. You’re under no obligation.
Do you hold any accreditations?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
Which areas do you work in?
We work UK-wide. Prices don’t change with location.

DIY kit or professional repair?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
Keeping it looking good
How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:
- Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
- Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
- Rinse it down after each bath
- Do not leave razors or cans standing in the bath
Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and avoid dropping heavy items on the repaired area. Deal with new chips early, before rust sets in.
Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, so water cannot get in. Take it off before we arrive.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Cast iron
Cast iron is heavy and rigid, finished with fired enamel. Chips can rust if left, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, which makes it well worth repairing.
Acrylic
An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. They don’t rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.
What happens on the day
We turn up at the time we agreed with you and checks the damage against your photos first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. Most visits take a few hours, and we leave the room as we found it.
- We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
- Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
- The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.
How to prepare
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
How to get a price
Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed price the same day in most cases.
Related advice
Honest limits
We will not take on work that won’t last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:
- A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
- Cracks in acrylic we can’t reach from underneath
- Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling
If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.
What we work on
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Pressed steel enamel
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Cast iron enamel
- Acrylic
Should you replace it?
Replacing a fitted bath normally involves a plumber, lifting out the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and getting rid of the old bath. A repair fixes just the damaged area in one visit. Our bath repair starts from £95. Compared with replacing, repairing normally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
Why book with us
- Most jobs done in one visit
- Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
- Rooms protected and left tidy
- Honest advice, even when it means no job
Take a look at our prices page or guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.
What bath repair costs
Repairs from £95. We give every job a fixed quote from pictures. This is what makes a difference:
- How many items we do on one visit
- How much damage there is
- What kind of damage it is
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
Getting a price from pictures
Two or three clear pictures are normally enough. Try to include:
- What it’s made of, if you know
- Details of any past repairs
- A photo taken from further back
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
Most clients in Sledmere get their price from pictures. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.
