Bath repair near Stella

Why repair rather than replace?

People often assume a cracked or chipped bath has to come out. In most cases it doesn’t: a repair keeps the bath in service for years, without the cost and upheaval of replacing it. Prices start from £95. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before booking, with no extras added later.

Why us?

  • Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish

Bath repair in Stella, done in place

Whatever the damage, the aim is the same: a repair that’s smooth, sound and hard to spot. Proper preparation, careful filling and shaping, then colour and gloss matching so it’s level with the surrounding surface. We work on pressed steel enamel, roll-top & freestanding and whirlpool & spa baths, and people most frequently call us about holes from dropped items and a cracked acrylic bath.

You are covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before you book.

Stella questions

Can landlords book you?

Yes, often. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Are there extra charges for Stella?

There is no separate call-out charge. Your fixed quote includes everything.

Can pets and children be at home?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

How much does bath repair cost in Stella?

Repairs from £95. Because every job differs, we price from pictures. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

When can I have a bath again?

Normally by the following day, though it depends on what we’ve done.

Do you repair coloured baths?

Yes, coloured baths are no problem. We tint the finish to your bath on site.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Normally, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we will say so.

Can you quote from photos?

In nearly every case. If photos do not show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. We give every job a fixed quote from photos. These are the things that affect it:

  • How many areas need work
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • The material and finish

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Stella. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Send pictures for a quote

Two or three clear photos are normally enough. It helps if you send:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • What it’s made of, if you know

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire bath, we can price the job the same day in most cases.

Signs you need bath repair in Stella

Nearly all the chips we see start with something being dropped: a shampoo bottle, a shower head, a tile or a tool during a refit. On enamelled baths, any chip down to the metal lets water in, and rust follows.

Most people get in touch after spotting one of these:

  • A failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting
  • Impact holes in acrylic
  • Chips on the rim or sides
  • Rust spots around the plughole

Before booking anyone

  • If travel is included in the price
  • Who turns up on the day
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers

How the visit works

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so there are no surprises. After that, protection goes down around the work area and the work begins. It normally takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and we’ll keep you posted as we go.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the day after.

Before we arrive

  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

Advice

Can I fix it myself?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

How to care for the repair

So the finish stays in good condition:

  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • Do not scrub with anything abrasive
  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
  • Clean with warm water and a mild detergent

Do not leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, because they can mark the enamel. And fix dripping taps promptly.

Stop using the bath if a crack lets water through. Water under the bath can damage the floor and the ceiling below.

What your bath is made of matters

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, just like other baths.

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

What we can’t put right

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through
  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before you book.
