There is no plumbing to disconnect, the tiles are not touched, and the repaired area is colour-matched so it blends in. Common call-outs are for snagging damage from a refit and a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting, in whirlpool & spa baths, cast iron enamel and pressed steel enamel.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will come back.

What affects the price in Stubbles
Repairs from £95. You will know the full cost before booking. We take into account:
- The material and finish
- Access to the area
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- Whether we combine several jobs
We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Stubbles. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
Getting a price from pictures
A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- A photo taken from further back
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them over with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. There’s no charge for the quote and you are under no obligation.

What a repair cannot fix
Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:
- Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below
- A steel bath rusted through
- Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before you book.
What we work on
- Pressed steel enamel
- Acrylic
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Cast iron enamel
- Whirlpool & spa baths
Repairs by material
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.
Pressed steel
Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Exposed steel rusts fast, especially around the waste, so early repairs matter.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.
Should you replace it?
If the rest of the bath is in good condition, a repair is almost always the better choice. It’s quicker, cheaper and far less disruptive, and the bathroom stays as it is. If the whole surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we will tell you. Our bath repair starts from £95. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Aftercare tips
Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts. Here’s what we suggest:
- If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
- Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
- Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
- Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
Give the repair the full curing time we recommend before using the bath. After that, gentle cleaning keeps it looking good.
Do not leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, turning a quick repair into a bigger one.

Hospitality businesses cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.
How the visit works
There is not much you need to do on the day. Let us in and show us the room, and we will take it from there. Most visits take a morning or an afternoon, including clearing up.
- We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
- We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
- We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
- We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
- The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the following day.
Preparing for the visit
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Ensure the area is dry
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
Ask for a price
