Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Tettenhall. What changes the price is:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Access to the area
  • The material and finish
  • Doing more than one item at once

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Send photos for a quote

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Something in shot to show the size

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them to us with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote. There is no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.

Bath repair in Tettenhall, done in place

Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. The method changes with the material: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. Whether it’s scuffs and scratches in the surface and a cracked acrylic bath, we can help.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Common questions in Tettenhall

Is it messy?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners.

Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?

Normally, yes, if we can reach the underside to reinforce it. Check under the bath panel, or send us a picture.

Do you charge for travel?

We don’t add a call-out fee. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

What happens if you find more damage?

The price is fixed for what the pictures show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

When can you do it?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send pictures with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

Are you accredited?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?

Frequently, if there’s access underneath. We back the hole, fill it and refinish the surface.

Why repair rather than replace?

If the rest of the bath is in good condition, a repair is almost always the better choice. It’s quicker, cheaper and far less disruptive, and the bathroom stays as it is. If the entire surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we will tell you. Our bath repair starts from £95. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

Different materials, different repairs

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

What we do, step by step

On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will take it from there. Most visits take two to three hours for most chips, including clearing up.

  1. We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
  2. Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
  3. The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
  4. We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can typically use the bath the following day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

Advice

Can I fix it myself?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

When we would advise against a repair

We won’t take on work that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
  • Cracks in acrylic we can’t reach from underneath
  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.

What we work on

  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Pressed steel enamel

Aftercare tips

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath
  • Check that an acrylic bath does not move when you stand in it
  • Give the bath a quick rinse after use
  • Get any new chip repaired before it rusts

Treat the repaired area like the rest of the bath: a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs. Keep scouring pads and gritty cleaners away from it.

Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, to keep water out. Take it off before we arrive.

When to call us in Tettenhall

Glass and heavy bottles cause more chips than anything else, with dropped shower heads close behind. Fittings cause damage too: water collects there, so chips nearby rust quickly.

Most people get in touch when they notice something like this:

  • Rusty patches near the plughole
  • A cracked acrylic bath
  • Chips under the taps
  • Chips caused by builders
