Need bath repair in The Blythe?

Bath repair in The Blythe, done in place

Bath repair is our most common job. A chip by the taps, a crack in the base and a rust spot by the plughole are all fixed without removing the bath, normally in one visit. We are often asked to fix chips under the taps and scuffs and scratches in the surface, across roll-top & freestanding, cast iron enamel and whirlpool & spa baths.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you are not left on your own once we’ve gone.

Before and after: a damaged acrylic bath corner repaired in place

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

Repairing versus replacing in The Blythe

Swapping a damaged bath for a new one typically means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and getting rid of the old bath. Repairing it deals only with the damage in one visit. Our bath repair starts from £95. We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for The Blythe. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

What you get with us

  • Typically one visit, start to finish
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Free fixed quotes from pictures
  • One price list for the whole UK

Different materials, different repairs

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, just like other baths.

How the visit works

We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you’re not left guessing. Once we are there, the work takes a few hours for most jobs. The room is left tidy.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

Honest limits

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits:

  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath
  • A steel bath rusted through

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

Surfaces we repair

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Acrylic

Aftercare tips

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Do not leave a fresh chip for long
  • Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
  • Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
  • Check that an acrylic bath does not move when you stand in it

There’s nothing special to do after a repair, just sensible cleaning. Avoid bleach-based and gritty cleaners and give it a rinse after each bath.

Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, so water can’t get in. Remove it before the repair.

Questions from The Blythe

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

Can pets and children be at home?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we’re working in. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.

Is my repair covered?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Is it messy?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we have finished.

Can you repair several things at once?

Of course, and it normally saves money. Send pictures of everything together and you will get one combined price.

I tried a repair kit. Can you fix it?

Regularly. The old material comes out, any rust is treated, then we repair it properly.

Do you cover the whole of Staffordshire?

Across the UK, and that includes The Blythe. Prices do not change with location.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. We give every job a fixed quote from photos. This is what makes a difference:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Access to the area
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Whether we combine several jobs

What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

How to get a fixed quote

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A picture taken from further back
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed quote back. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.

For landlords and businesses

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover. Several plots can be done in one visit.

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.
