Questions from The Grove

Are you accredited?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Do you repair coloured baths?

Yes. The colour is mixed on site to suit your bath, including older coloured suites.

How long before I can use the bath?

Most baths can be used the next day. We confirm the time before we leave.

Will I be able to see the repair?

We aim for a repair you cannot easily find. How well it disappears depends on the condition of the rest of the bath.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote.

Do you come to The Grove?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and come to The Grove and the rest of Shropshire. Send pictures and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

What areas do you cover?

All of Shropshire, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.

Can you price it without visiting?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.

Bath repair in The Grove without replacing anything

We’ve repaired just about every kind of bath damage: chips from dropped bottles, rust round the plughole, cracks in acrylic and holes from falling tools. All of it is repaired where the bath stands with a one-year guarantee. We regularly repair whirlpool & spa baths, pressed steel enamel and cast iron enamel, and common reasons people contact us are deep scratches in acrylic and snagging damage from a refit.

Every job is backed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

What we can’t put right

A repair isn’t right for every job, including:

  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through
  • Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

What we work on

  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

Looking after it afterwards

Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:

  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
  • Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
  • Ensure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners

Use gentle, non-abrasive cleaners and try not to drop heavy bottles on the repair. Deal with new chips early, before rust sets in.

Rust spreads under enamel faster than most people expect. Left for months, a small chip can grow into a large rust patch, so it pays to deal with it early.

Different materials, different repairs

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.

Cast iron

Cast iron is heavy and rigid, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the bath itself lasts for generations, which makes it well worth repairing.

Why repair rather than replace?

Swapping a damaged bath for a new one normally means a plumber, removing the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and getting rid of the old bath. A repair fixes just the damaged area in a single visit. Prices start from £95. Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for The Grove. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

How the visit works

Visits start with a quick look at the job together. Then the area is sheeted and masked and we start. It normally takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and we’ll tell you if anything changes.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the next day.

Before we arrive

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Advice

When to call us in The Grove

Glass and heavy bottles cause more chips than anything else, closely followed by shower heads. Fittings cause damage too: water sits around them, and any chip there soon rusts.

Most people contact us after spotting one of these:

  • A hole punched through by something heavy
  • Chips under the taps
  • Cracks in an acrylic bath
  • Damage done while the bathroom was being fitted

What to look for in a quote

  • What aftercare is recommended
  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • Whether a trained technician does the job
  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers

Our hiring checklist

For landlords and businesses

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in The Grove as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it usually costs far less than a refit.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. Each job gets its own fixed price. This is what makes a difference:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • How much damage there is
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

How to get a fixed price

Before you send photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.
