How we handle bath repair in The Heath
A repair fixes just the damaged area and blends it into the rest of the bath, which is far cheaper than replacing a fitted bath. You can usually use the bath the next day. Our repair technicians work on pressed steel enamel, cast iron enamel and roll-top & freestanding, and people most frequently call us about hairline or through cracks in acrylic and deep scratches in acrylic.
Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee.

Different materials, different repairs
Acrylic
Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, in much the same way.
Landlord and trade work in The Heath
Letting agents frequently send us pictures straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.
What bath repair costs
Prices start from £95. There is no area surcharge for The Heath. The price reflects:
- Access to the area
- The colour and finish to match
- Whether we combine several jobs
- How much damage there is
Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is generally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.
Send photos for a quote
Before you send photos, a few simple things make all the difference:
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- The material, if you know it
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.

What else we do in The Heath
DIY kit or professional repair?
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.
Common questions in The Heath
Can pets and children be at home?
Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.
What areas do you cover?
The entire UK, including all of Hertfordshire. Send your postcode with your photos and we will confirm dates.
I tried a repair kit. Can you fix it?
Regularly. The old material comes out, any rust is treated, then we repair it properly.
Do you work in The Heath?
We do. We send a technician to The Heath for every job, with no extra charge for travel.
What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?
We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.
What does bath repair cost?
Prices start from £95. Because every job differs, we price from photos. You know the full cost before anything is booked.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Yes, almost always. Clear photos let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.
Can tenants book a repair?
Yes. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.
When a repair is not the answer
Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair will not do:
- Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
- A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
- Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.
Materials we repair
- Acrylic
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Cast iron enamel
- Pressed steel enamel
How to care for the repair
So the finish stays in good condition:
- Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath
- Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
- Rinse it down after each bath
- Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and try not to drop heavy bottles on the repair. Get any new chip seen to quickly, before rust can start.
Stop using the bath if a crack lets water through until it’s repaired. Water under the bath can damage the floor and the ceiling below.
What happens on the day
On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll get on with it. Most visits take a morning or an afternoon, including clearing up.
- Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
- The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
- We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
- We match both the colour and the shine.
- We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, normally the next day.
How to prepare
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
- Clear the area around the damage
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
How to get a price
You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Repairing versus replacing in The Heath
A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: the tiles sitting on the rim tend to break, a new panel is often needed, and the plumbing has to be disconnected and refitted. Repairing the damage avoids all of that. Prices start from £95. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.
