Bath chip & crack repair in The Platt, Kent
Chip and crack repairs to enamel, acrylic and cast iron baths for homeowners, landlords and businesses in The Platt. Free, fixed quotes from your pictures.
- Repairs from £95
- A chip where the taps sit
- A failed DIY repair that is discoloured or lifting

Should I try a DIY kit first?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.
Bath repair at your home in The Platt
A repair fixes just the damaged area and blends it into the rest of the bath, which is far cheaper than replacing a fitted bath and the tiles around it. Most baths can be used again the next day. We are frequently asked to fix cracks in an acrylic bath and deep scratches in acrylic, in pressed steel enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and acrylic.
You get a one-year guarantee, the same in The Platt as everywhere else we work.

How the visit works
Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you know when to expect us. On site, it takes two to three hours for most chips. The room is left tidy and you will know when it can be used.
- We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
- The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
- We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
- We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
- We leave it to cure; you can typically use the bath the next day.
Before we arrive
- Keep a parking space free if you can
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Repairing versus replacing in The Platt
A new bath costs more than the bath itself: taking out the old one, plumbing, tiling, a panel and redecorating. With a repair, it’s one visit and one price. Our bath repair starts from £95. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

When a repair is not the answer
A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:
- Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
- Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
- Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.
Materials we repair
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Acrylic
- Roll-top & freestanding

The Platt questions
Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?
Frequently, if there is access underneath. The hole is backed, filled and refinished to match.
Do you come to The Platt?
Yes. We work across the UK and travel to The Platt and the rest of Kent. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
How soon can you come?
It depends on the time of year and where you are. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.
Will you leave a mess?
Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.
What areas do you cover?
Across the UK. Prices do not change with location.
Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?
Frequently, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Check under the bath panel, or send us a picture.
What happens after I send photos?
We review the photos and send a fixed quote and the next dates we have.
Can you fix rust around the plughole?
Yes. We remove the rust and loose enamel, seal and fill the area, then colour-match the finish.
What your bath is made of matters
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, in much the same way.
Acrylic
Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.
Looking after it afterwards
Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts. Here’s what we suggest:
- Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
- Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
- Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
- If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
Do not leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, because they can mark the enamel. And fix dripping taps promptly.
A chip on a metal bath shouldn’t be left. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.
