What a repair cannot fix
In fairness, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:
- Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below
- Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
- Metal that has corroded all the way through
Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before booking.
Surfaces we repair
- Acrylic
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Cast iron enamel
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Pressed steel enamel
How we handle bath repair in Timbersbrook
Whatever has happened to the bath, we aim for the same result: a repair that is smooth, sound and hard to spot. Proper preparation, careful filling and shaping, then colour and gloss matching so it sits flush with the rest of the bath. We are often asked to fix an old repair that has yellowed or come loose and a hole punched through by something heavy, in whirlpool & spa baths, roll-top & freestanding and pressed steel enamel.
A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you are covered after the visit.

Do you need bath repair in Timbersbrook?
Damage during fitting is very common. Tools, tiles and fittings get dropped into the bath, and the damage is not always spotted until later. We repair snagging damage like this regularly.
Signs it’s time to call us include:
- Snagging damage from a refit
- Chips along the edge of the bath
- An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
- Scratches you can feel with a fingernail

Should I try a DIY kit first?
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
Your questions about bath repair in Timbersbrook
Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?
In most cases. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so we need access under the bath.
Are there extra charges for Timbersbrook?
We do not add a call-out fee. Your fixed price includes everything.
Do you do work for letting agents?
We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.
Can you fix rust around the plughole?
Yes, it’s one of the most common repairs we do. The rust is cut back to clean metal and sealed before we fill and finish it.
Is it safe with children and pets around?
On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes. Doing several items on one visit usually costs less than separate visits. Send photos of everything you’d like done.
Do you cover the entire of Cheshire East?
Everywhere in the UK, Timbersbrook included. There is no extra charge for travel.
Will you leave a mess?
We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we’ve finished.
Work for landlords and builders
We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access.
Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.
Looking after it afterwards
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
- Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
- If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
- Give the bath a quick rinse after use
Look after the repair the same way as the bath: a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs. Keep scouring pads and gritty cleaners away from it.
Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, so water cannot get in. Remove it before the repair.
What we do, step by step
Visits start with a quick look at the job together. After that, protection goes down around the work area and we start. It normally takes two to three hours for most chips.
- First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
- Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
- We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.
Before we arrive
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
- Ensure the area is dry

You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.
Advice
Repair or replace: which is better?
When the bath is otherwise sound, repairing beats replacing. It’s quicker, cheaper and far less disruptive, and the bathroom stays as it is. If the whole surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we’ll tell you. Our bath repair starts from £95. Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.
Why us?
- Rooms protected and left tidy
- Nothing taken out or refitted

Different materials, different repairs
Cast iron
Cast iron is heavy and rigid, finished with fired enamel. Chips can rust if left, but the bath itself lasts for generations, so it’s always worth repairing.
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
