Bath repair in Timsgarry

DIY kit or professional repair?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Bath repair in Timsgarry, done in place

Most of our bath repairs take a few hours, and you can usually bathe again the next day. There is no need to book a plumber or tiler, because nothing is disconnected. If you are dealing with impact holes in acrylic and chips along the edge of the bath, we can typically put it right, on pressed steel enamel, roll-top & freestanding and cast iron enamel alike.

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee.

Rusty chip next to a bath plughole, before and after repair

When to call us in Timsgarry

Rust tends to begin where water collects, by the plughole, beneath dripping taps or in an unrepaired chip. Water on bare metal causes rust that creeps under the surrounding enamel.

You may need us if you’ve spotted any of these:

  • Snagging damage from a refit
  • Rust spots around the plughole
  • Deep scratches in acrylic
  • A hole punched through by something heavy

What to look for in a quote

  • What aftercare is recommended
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • How the colour is matched
  • When it can be used again

How to compare quotes

Repairing versus replacing in Timsgarry

Replacing a fitted bath generally means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and getting rid of the old bath. Repairing it fixes just the damaged area in a single visit. Prices start from £95. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

Why Timsgarry clients choose us

  • One price list for the entire UK
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Fixed prices from your pictures

What affects the price in Timsgarry

Prices start from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How much damage there is
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Doing more than one item at once

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking.

Quotes from your photos

Photographing the damage takes a minute. Please include:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • The material, if you know it
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

If you’re in Timsgarry and want a price, the easiest route is pictures: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

Your questions about bath repair in Timsgarry

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.

Is it messy?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

Are there extra charges for Timsgarry?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

What areas do you cover?

We work UK-wide. Prices do not change with location.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We review the pictures and send a fixed quote and the next dates we have.

How invisible is a bath repair?

We aim for a repair you cannot easily find. The rest of the bath’s condition makes a difference.

Do you come to Timsgarry?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Timsgarry. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Aftercare tips

Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:

  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
  • Do not scrub with anything abrasive
  • Rinse it down after each bath

In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath.

A small chip is a quick job. Leave them and they collect dirt, stain and, on metal baths, rust, so it’s worth getting them done early.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Timsgarry

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, photos and access details.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Honest limits

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below
  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Cast iron enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding

The process

When we visit, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take a morning or an afternoon. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
  2. Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
  3. The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
  4. We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
  5. Once it has cured, normally by the following day, the bath is ready to use.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Ask for a price

There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.
