Landlord and trade work in Toll Bar
We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we’ll arrange it.
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Doncaster and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.
Bath repair in Toll Bar without replacing anything
A damaged bath does not have to mean a new bathroom. Our technicians fill, shape and refinish the damage, mixing the colour on the day. Common call-outs are for a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting and chips under the taps, in acrylic, pressed steel enamel and roll-top & freestanding.
Every job is backed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

What your bath is made of matters
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, so it’s always worth repairing.
Pressed steel
Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Exposed steel rusts fast, especially around the waste, so repair chips early.
Aftercare tips
So the finish stays in good condition:
- Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
- Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
- Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath
- Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it
For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath without abrasive products.
If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Each time it flexes, the crack grows, and water can get through to the floor below.

DIY repairs versus a professional job
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.
What happens on the day
Here’s how a visit typically runs: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and tidy away. Allow a few hours from start to finish. Before we go, we’ll explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.
- Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
- We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
- Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
- We match both the colour and the shine.
- We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, generally the day after.

Should you replace it?
If the rest of the bath is in good condition, a repair is almost always the better choice. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and you keep the bath you chose. Where the whole surface is tired, we may suggest re-enamelling instead. Our bath repair starts from £95. We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Toll Bar. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
Why Toll Bar customers choose us
- Colour mixed on the day to match
- Everything repaired in place
- One visit for most repairs
- Honest advice, even when it means no job

Common questions in Toll Bar
Will there be a smell?
Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, which is why we ventilate. It fades as everything cures.
Will the repair show?
On a glossy bath, you will struggle to find it. On worn enamel, it can look shinier than the rest.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Typically, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
Do you hold any accreditations?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Of course, and it normally saves money. Just add the extra items to your pictures and we will quote them together.
Can you match an avocado or pink bath?
Yes, we match coloured baths too. We tint the finish to your bath on site.
Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?
Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.
Prices and what affects them
Repairs from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:
- The colour and finish to match
- How much damage there is
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
Send photos for a quote
We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:
- The material, if you know it
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- One picture of the entire bath
- Something in shot to show the size
There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.
When we’d advise against a repair
Some jobs are not right for a repair, for example:
- Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
- Metal that has corroded all the way through
- Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.
