About our bath repair in Van
Most bath damage, from chips and cracks to rust spots and holes, is repaired in place. Nothing is unplumbed, the tiles aren’t touched, and the repaired area is colour matched so it blends in. We work on acrylic, cast iron enamel and whirlpool & spa baths, and people most frequently call us about rusty patches near the plughole and scuffs and scratches in the surface.
You are covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before booking.

What your bath is made of matters
Composite and resin
Composite baths are dense and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, in much the same way.
Cast iron
Cast iron is heavy and rigid, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the bath itself lasts for generations, so it’s always worth repairing.
How it works
It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, protect the area, and get on with the job, which normally takes a morning or an afternoon. If anything looks different from your photos, we’ll talk to you before going ahead.
- We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
- Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
- The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.
How to prepare
- Open a window if you can
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
Getting a price

Advice
Should I try a DIY kit first?
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
How to care for the repair
A little care keeps the finish looking good. Our advice:
- Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
- Don’t scrub with anything abrasive
- Give the bath a quick rinse after use
- Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
Care for the repair the same way as the bath: warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Avoid scourers and gritty cream cleaners.
If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Every use opens the crack a little more, and it can start to leak underneath.

What else we do in Van
Do you need bath repair in Van?
Rust tends to begin where water collects, by the plughole, beneath dripping taps or in an unrepaired chip. Water on bare metal causes rust that creeps under the surrounding enamel.
Typical reasons for a call-out include:
- A chip where the taps sit
- A cracked acrylic bath
- Holes from dropped items
- Scratches you can feel with a fingernail
Questions to ask before booking

- Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT

How we price bath repair
Repairs from £95. We price every job individually, from your photos. What matters most is:
- What kind of damage it is
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- What the surface is made of
- Access to the area
There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
How to get a fixed price
It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Try to send:
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- What it’s made of, if you know
- Natural light rather than flash
- A wider photo showing the whole bath
Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them to us with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.
Why repair rather than replace?
Cast iron baths in particular are worth repairing: they’re very heavy to remove, especially upstairs, and replacing like for like is not cheap. Repairing it leaves it where it is. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.
