Bath repair at your home in Walcott Green

Most of our bath repairs take a few hours, and you can normally bathe again the day after. There is no need to book a plumber or tiler, because nothing is disconnected. If you are dealing with damage done while the bathroom was being fitted and chips along the edge of the bath, we can normally put it right, on pressed steel enamel, roll-top & freestanding and acrylic alike.

You are covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before booking.

Honest limits

Some jobs aren’t right for a repair, for example:

  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before booking.

Common questions in Walcott Green

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and you will get one combined price.

Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?

In most cases. Send us a photo of the hole and one from under the bath if you can.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Most of the time. Let us know what was used before and we will plan for it.

Can rust on a bath be repaired?

Yes, very frequently. The rust is cut back to clean metal and sealed before we fill and finish it.

Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?

In most cases. We reinforce the crack from behind, then fill and refinish the front, so access behind the panel is important.

Do you work in Walcott Green?

We do. Repair technicians travel to Walcott Green from across the region, with no extra charge for travel.

Is there a call-out fee?

We don’t add a call-out fee. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

How it works

Once we’re through the door, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the work takes a few hours, depending on the damage, depending on what we find, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, usually the next day.

Before we arrive

  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

How we price bath repair

Repairs from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How many areas need work
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Unusual colours or finishes

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Walcott Green. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

How to get a fixed price

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To help us price it:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Any details about the material
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.

Repair or replace in Walcott Green?

Swapping a damaged bath for a new one normally involves a plumber, removing the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and disposing of the old one. Repairing it fixes just the damaged area in one visit. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.

What you get with us

  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • Fixed prices from your pictures
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor

Aftercare tips

It’s all simple stuff:

  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
  • Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
  • Have new chips seen to early
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early

Do not leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, as they can leave rust marks. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.

Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, to keep water out. Take it off before we arrive.

Work for landlords and builders

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Common problems we fix in Walcott Green

Rust normally starts where water sits, around the waste, under the taps or in an old chip. Water on bare metal causes rust that creeps under the surrounding enamel.

Contact us if you’ve noticed:

  • A chip where the taps sit
  • A chipped rim or side
  • A cracked acrylic bath
  • A failed DIY repair that is discoloured or lifting

Questions to ask before booking

  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
  • Whether the price covers travel
  • How the colour is matched
