Bath repair for Wereham homes

About our bath repair in Wereham

Small damage on a bath is worth repairing early. Exposed metal on enamelled baths soon rusts, and on acrylic, a crack keeps spreading while the bath flexes. Repairing it stops the damage getting worse. We work on cast iron enamel, pressed steel enamel and acrylic, and the jobs we see most are scuffs and scratches in the surface and a cracked acrylic bath.

Every job is backed for twelve months in Wereham and everywhere else. We return to put right any problem with the work.

Your questions about bath repair in Wereham

How long before I can use the bath?

Normally by the following day, though it depends on what we’ve done.

What happens next?

You get a fixed quote and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Just add the extra items to your pictures and you will get one combined price.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Typically, yes. The old repair comes out first, so mention it when you send pictures.

Can rust on a bath be repaired?

Yes, it’s one of the most common repairs we do. We take it back to sound metal, seal it, fill it and match the colour.

Is it messy?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we have finished.

How quickly can you book me in?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send pictures with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

Do you cover the whole of Norfolk?

All of Norfolk, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.

Should you replace it?

Cast iron baths in particular are worth repairing: they’re very heavy to remove, especially upstairs, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. A repair keeps it in place. Our bath repair starts from £95. We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Wereham. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Signs you need bath repair in Wereham

Most bath damage comes from something dropped: bottles, shower heads, tiles and tools. On enamelled baths, any chip down to the metal will start to rust.

Contact us if you’ve noticed any of these:

  • Holes from dropped items
  • Deep scratches in acrylic
  • Cracks in an acrylic bath
  • Snagging damage from a refit

Our hiring checklist

Should I try a DIY kit first?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

What bath repair costs

Prices start from £95. Prices are worked out job by job. What matters most is:

  • Access to the area
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How much damage there is
  • How many items we do on one visit

What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.

How to get a fixed price

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To make it quick:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • The material, if you know it

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

How it works

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and clear up. Allow a few hours, depending on the damage. Before we go, we’ll explain how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, normally the day after.

Before we arrive

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Open a window if you can

How to get a price

For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.

Advice

Repairs by material

Pressed steel

Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Exposed steel rusts fast, particularly by the plughole, so repair chips early.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, with a fused enamel surface. Chips can rust if left, but the bath itself lasts for generations, so it’s always worth repairing.

Aftercare tips

Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:

  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
  • Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
  • Do not leave a fresh chip for long

In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath.

Don’t leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.
