Bath repair in West Perry

Bath repair in West Perry, done in place

Repairing baths is what we do most. Chips on the rim, rust around the waste and cracks in acrylic are all fixed without removing the bath, normally in one visit. Typical jobs include cracks in an acrylic bath and scratches you can feel with a fingernail, across whirlpool & spa baths, roll-top & freestanding and cast iron enamel.

All our work is covered by our one-year guarantee.

Can I fix it myself?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

Different materials, different repairs

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is what we repair.

How we price bath repair

Repairs from £95. There’s no charge for travel to West Perry. The price comes down to:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • What the surface is made of
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The type of damage

Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send pictures and we will give you the exact figure.

Getting a price from photos

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • A picture taken from further back
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

You don’t need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

What happens on the day

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll take it from there. The job generally runs to two to three hours for most chips.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Have a window or extractor fan available

What we can’t put right

Not everything can be repaired, and we’ll tell you before we start. Repairs will not solve:

  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below
  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Roll-top & freestanding

Should you replace it?

Think about the hidden costs of a new bath: taking out the old one, plumbing, tiling, a panel and redecorating. A repair is one job, done in one visit. Prices start from £95. Compared with replacing, repairing usually costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Why book with us

  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • One price list for the whole UK
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Colour-matched on site

Aftercare tips

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Rinse it down after each bath
  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby

Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and avoid dropping heavy items on the repaired area. Get any new chip seen to quickly, before rust can start.

A chip on a metal bath shouldn’t be left. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, turning a quick repair into a bigger one.
