Bath repair near Wiggonholt

Bath repair at your home in Wiggonholt

You do not need a new bath because of a chip. Our technicians fill, shape and refinish the damage, mixing the colour on the day. Whether it’s an old repair that has yellowed or come loose and chips along the edge of the bath, we can typically put it right, on cast iron enamel, pressed steel enamel and acrylic alike.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there is a problem and we’ll come back.

Looking after it afterwards

A little care keeps the finish looking good. We recommend:

  • Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
  • Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby

For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath without abrasive products.

Small chips are quick to repair. Left alone, they stain and can rust, so early repair saves time and money.

Common problems we fix in Wiggonholt

Heavy toiletries are the biggest single cause of chips. Taps and wastes cause problems too: water collects there, so chips nearby rust quickly.

Send us a picture if you notice any of these:

  • Impact holes in acrylic
  • An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
  • Deep scratches in acrylic
  • Damage beneath the taps

What your quote should include

  • How soon you can use it again
  • Who will actually do the work
  • How to look after the finish
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match

How to compare quotes

Different materials, different repairs

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, finished with fired enamel. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the bath itself lasts for generations, which makes it well worth repairing.

Landlord and trade work in Wiggonholt

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

When a repair isn’t the answer

In fairness, some problems need a different fix:

  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.

What we work on

  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Pressed steel enamel

Wiggonholt: your questions answered

Can you quote from photos?

Typically, yes. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed price without visiting.

Will the price change on the day?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.

What happens next?

We come back with a fixed quote, plus dates. You are under no obligation.

Is it messy?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, so the repair is not disturbed while it cures.

How much does bath repair cost in Wiggonholt?

Prices start from £95. We give a fixed price from your pictures. Send a close-up and a photo of the entire item and your postcode.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. We carry out repairs for householders, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses across West Sussex.

Can rust on a bath be repaired?

Yes. We remove the rust and loose enamel, seal and fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Repair or replace: which is better?

A new bath costs more than the bath itself: removal and disposal, plumbing, a new panel, tiling and decorating. With a repair, it’s one visit and one price. Prices start from £95. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

How it works

Here’s how a visit usually runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, do the job and tidy away. Allow a morning or an afternoon. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the day after.

Preparing for the visit

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
