Bath resealing near Alway

About our bath resealing in Alway

We cut out all of the old sealant, deal with any mould, and apply fresh mould-resistant silicone. We do this for baths, showers, sinks and worktops, and that includes the awkward spots behind the taps. Typical jobs include silicone coming away from the tiles and stained silicone, across wet rooms, basins & vanity units and baths.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re not left on your own once we’ve gone.

What we do, step by step

We work cleanly and quietly, so you can carry on at home. We protect the area first, then the job itself takes about two hours for a bath. At the end we talk you through the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
  2. Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
  3. We make sure the joint is completely dry.
  4. For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, taps included.

Preparing for the visit

  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Ask for a price

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

Do you need bath resealing in Alway?

Even good sealant eventually discolours. Steam, soap and movement all wear it down.

Send us a picture if you notice any of these:

  • Stained silicone
  • Sealant that is split or lifting
  • Gaps by the taps
  • Mould you cannot clean out

How to compare quotes

Alway: your questions answered

What happens if you find more damage?

We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. You will not be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Why does my sealant keep going mouldy?

Damp is the cause. Run the fan, dry the joints and the new seal stays cleaner for longer.

What does bath resealing cost?

We give a fixed quote based on pictures of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.

How long before I can shower?

We will give you the curing time, typically around a day.

What do you need from me?

Photos of the damage, a picture of the whole bath or shower and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.

Do you charge for travel?

No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Can tenants book a repair?

We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Just ensure the landlord agrees.

How long does resealing take?

Most reseals take about two hours. It then needs time to cure.

What bath resealing costs

We price every job individually. What matters most is:

  • What the surface is made of
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Access to the area
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking, with nothing added on the day.

How to get a fixed price

When you take your pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • One picture of the whole bath or shower
  • Details of any past repairs
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

For a price in Alway, photos are the quickest way: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

Honest limits

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • Hidden water damage
  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

What we work on

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Wet rooms
  • Baths
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Shower trays & enclosures

For landlords and businesses

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Alway use us as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it typically costs far less than a refit.

For anyone letting property in or around Alway, we will quote for several properties at once. Send photos for each one and we will price them together.

How to look after the repair

Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:

  • Air the room after use
  • Use the extractor fan
  • Wipe the joints dry after use
  • Don’t stand toiletries on the seal

Run the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Do not wait until water gets behind the bath. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.

Repairs by material

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
