About our bath resealing in Ardleigh

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest, which stops the new seal tearing the first time the bath is used. Whether it’s a messy previous reseal and water getting behind the bath or tray, we can help, on baths, shower trays & enclosures and kitchen worktops & sinks alike.

You’re covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before you book.

How we price bath resealing

Prices are worked out job by job, from your photos. The main factors are:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • Access to the area
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • How much damage there is

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Ardleigh. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Send pictures for a quote

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what to send:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

Send us photos of the damage and one of the whole item, with your CO7 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

How to look after the repair

To keep it looking its best:

  • Ventilate the bathroom well
  • Air the room after use
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting

Keep the room well ventilated, and wipe the joints after use.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. It may be more than a reseal, and we will say if you need a builder or plumber.

What a repair cannot fix

To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:

  • Hidden water damage
  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
  • Very wide gaps that need a trim

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

What we work on

  • Baths
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Wet rooms
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Shower trays & enclosures

For landlords and businesses

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we’ll handle the rest.

Why it’s worth resealing in Ardleigh

Resealing costs very little and protects the walls and floor. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

What you get with us

  • One visit for most repairs
  • We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • A fixed quote before booking
  • No need to remove anything

Ardleigh: your questions answered

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include pictures of each item.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Will you leave a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.

My seal keeps tearing. Why?

Something is moving. Persistent splitting can mean the support needs attention.

Will the price change on the day?

We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the photos cannot show what we need.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

What information do you need?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. Then we’ll agree a date.

What we do, step by step

Here’s how a visit generally runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and tidy away. Allow around two hours from start to finish. Before we go, we will explain how long to leave it and how to look after it.

  1. We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
  2. The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, taps included.

How to prepare

  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Clear the area around the damage

Getting a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire bath or shower, include your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Advice

What we’re called out for in Ardleigh

Poor ventilation speeds things up: damp hangs around, and mould grows faster.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Missing sealant behind the taps
  • Black mould in the sealant
  • Stained silicone
  • Water getting behind the bath or tray

What to look for in a quote

  • What happens if they find more damage
  • When it can be used again
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • Who will actually do the work
