Bath resealing in Arpinge

Bath resealing in Arpinge, done in place

A fresh seal protects your bathroom. Failed sealant lets water get where it shouldn’t, and a new seal stops it. We’re frequently asked to fix silicone smeared on tiles and sealant that’s split or lifting, in basins & vanity units, shower trays & enclosures and baths.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. We return to put right any problem with the work.

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.

For landlords and businesses

Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, pictures and access details and we will arrange it.

How to look after the repair

To keep it looking its best:

  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly
  • Don’t stand toiletries on the seal
  • Air the room after use
  • Use the extractor fan

Good ventilation is the best protection, and dry the joints after bathing.

Reseal before water gets in. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

How we price bath resealing

There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • What kind of damage it is

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Send pictures for a quote

Two or three clear photos are usually enough. Try to include:

  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • The material, if you know it
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

Email us pictures of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, with your CT18 postcode, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

When we’d advise against a repair

It helps to know what we cannot do:

  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Baths
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Wet rooms

Is resealing worth it?

Resealing is routine maintenance. Leaving split or mouldy sealant can let water reach the walls and floor, and that damage costs much more to fix. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

What you get with us

  • A fixed quote before you book
  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • One price list for the entire UK
  • One visit for most repairs

See our pricing.

How it works

Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you know when to expect us. Once we are there, the work takes around two hours for most jobs. The room is left tidy.

  1. We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
  2. The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, including around the taps.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Open a window if you can
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

FAQs for Arpinge

Is the work guaranteed?

All our work carries a one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

When can I use the bath after resealing?

You’ll get the curing time from us.

Is it messy?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

Do you seal over the old sealant?

We always remove the old sealant completely. Fresh silicone doesn’t stick to old.

Do I have to be there?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time we agree with you.

What information do you need?

Photos of the damage, a photo of the whole bath or shower and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes, frequently. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Do you need bath resealing in Arpinge?

Even good sealant eventually discolours particularly in a well-used bathroom. Steam, soap and movement all wear it down.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Black mould in the sealant
  • Missing sealant behind the taps
  • Water getting behind the bath or tray
  • Stained silicone
