Bath & shower resealing (mastic) in Ashen, Suffolk
Bath resealing across Ashen and nearby, done in a single visit in most cases and guaranteed for a year.
- An untidy old seal
- Silicone coming away from the tiles
- Old sealant that looks dirty

Work for landlords and builders
Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.
Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Suffolk and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.
Bath resealing at your home in Ashen
Preparation is everything in a reseal: old silicone removed, mould treated, the joint cleaned and dried. Only then does the new sealant go on, as one neat, continuous bead. Typical jobs include black mould in the sealant and an untidy old seal, in baths, basins & vanity units and shower trays & enclosures.
You are covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Common questions in Ashen
Why does my sealant keep going mouldy?
Damp is the cause. Run the fan, dry the joints and the new seal stays cleaner for longer.
Do you work in Ashen?
We do. Repair technicians travel to Ashen from across the region, with no extra charge for travel.
Can new silicone go over old?
We always remove the old sealant completely. Fresh silicone doesn’t stick to old.
Can landlords book you?
Yes, often. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Yes. Doing several items on one visit usually costs less than separate visits. Include pictures of each item.
Can pets and children be at home?
Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, so the repair isn’t disturbed while it cures.
Is a repair better than a new one?
In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.
How quickly can you book me in?
Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.
What we’re called out for in Ashen
No sealant lasts for ever. Each shower leaves moisture and soap behind, which mould feeds on, and the joint moves slightly every time the bath is filled.
Look out for any of the following:
- Mould you cannot clean out
- Stained silicone
- A messy previous reseal
- Unsealed corners
What to look for in a quote
- Who turns up on the day
- If travel is included in the price
- What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
- What protection goes down before work starts
Other services in Ashen
Prices and what affects them
A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We take into account:
- Access to the area
- The material
- The colour and finish to match
- Doing more than one item at once
What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.
Getting a price from pictures
We price nearly every job from photos. This is what to send:
- A wider photo showing the entire bath or shower
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- Where you are, by postcode
Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job without visiting.
What we do, step by step
The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we’re there. We protect the area first, then the work takes about two hours for a bath. At the end we talk you through the curing time and the aftercare.
- We cut out all of the old sealant.
- We remove the residue and clean the joint.
- We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
- We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
- We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.
Before we arrive
- Open a window if you can
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
- Let us know which floor the room is on

Related advice
Is resealing worth it?
Compared with repairing water damage, resealing is cheap. It’s a quick job that protects your walls and floors. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
Why book with us
- Generally one visit, start to finish
- Work done at your home or business
- CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
- Dust sheets down, tidy finish
Read our prices page.
When a repair isn’t the answer
We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair won’t do:
- Very wide gaps that need a trim
- Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
- Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.
Surfaces we repair
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Basins & vanity units
- Wet rooms
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Baths
Can I fix it myself?
What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Shower trays
Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.
Baths
We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.
