Bath resealing near Bakersfield

Can I fix it myself?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Bath resealing at your home in Bakersfield

All of the old sealant is cut out, treat any mould, and apply fresh mould-resistant silicone. We reseal baths, showers, sinks and worktops, including the awkward bits behind the taps. We regularly repair wet rooms, shower trays & enclosures and basins & vanity units, and the jobs we see most are gaps in the seal and gaps by the taps.

You’re covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Why it’s worth resealing in Bakersfield

Resealing is a small job. Leaving split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and that damage costs much more to fix. Compared with replacing, repairing typically costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

Why book with us

  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Fixed prices from your pictures
  • Work done at your home or business
  • One visit for most repairs

Work for landlords and builders

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, photos and access details and we will arrange it.

Do you need bath resealing in Bakersfield?

Sealant doesn’t last forever. Each shower leaves moisture and soap behind, which mould loves, and the joint moves slightly every time the bath is filled.

If you can see any of these, send us a photo:

  • Mould you cannot clean out
  • Gaps in the seal
  • Missing sealant behind the taps
  • Damp near the bath

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.

Yes, almost always. Clear photos let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.

How quickly can you book me in?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send pictures with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We come back with a fixed quote, typically with dates to choose from. There is no obligation to book.

Looking after it afterwards

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:

  • Dry the seal after bathing
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Air the room after use

Let it cure fully before using the bath or shower, normally about a day.

Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. It may be more than a reseal, so we will tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

What we can’t put right

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

What we work on

  • Wet rooms
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Baths
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks

What happens on the day

Here’s how a visit generally runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and clear up. Allow about two hours for a bath. Before we go, we will explain how long to leave it and how to care for it.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

Preparing for the visit

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
